- Jen B27 contributionsMassive Waterfall at the Heart of BaliThe waterfall is situated about 1.5 hrs North of central Ubud and is considered the best on the whole of Bali. We hired a trusted local Ubud driver 'Gus Loka' +62 819 9901 2173 who shared extensive knowledge of Bali's customs and daily life with us on our trip. The waterfall costs 5000 Rupiah (~£0.25) for parking and is situated near the top of the 500 steps needed to descend to the river and waterfall below - this is not for the infirm or unfit, just a warning; but if you are looking to get your daily steps up - take your time and watch your footing! I've seen waterfalls in several countries, but this is special! The canyon formed there gives an almost spiritual sense of being in the heart of Bali and the power of the water hitting the plunge pool below is humbling to behold. Beware the over enthusiastic swimmer - the water impact could be so hard as to knock you down and keep you there, but do enjoy paddling in the shallows and feel the amazing spray in the splash zone.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 22, 2023

- Ellismc1London, United Kingdom130 contributionsWorth it.Breathtaking drive through Jungle and rice fields from Leke Leke waterfall to NungNung. 20 000 IDR for entrance. I counted approximately 500 steps to reach the waterfall. Now I like to challenge my fitness so I enjoyed every step, clenching my buttocks and engaging my core. I was not expecting what I saw. This was a powerful waterfall (July). I stood in awe not even wanting to go in. The energy from the verdant surrounding area seems to be on the verge of speaking words…hard to describe but this place is worth it for the Earth energy which you can recharge your being with even though the constant spray from the waterfall made it a little cold. Definitely for those seeking a boost to their energy system.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 18, 2024

I came here, via private driver, on a Monday in mid-December 2022. There is a fee to see the waterfall, to use the restroom, and for parking. The restroom was 2,000Rp with no toilet paper, so come prepared. The parking was 5,000Rp and the waterfall was 20,000Rp.
I thought this waterfall was beautiful. More beautiful than any other waterfalls I've seen in Bali. You can feel the power and the force behind it.
If you plan on going swimming, I'd recommend wearing water shoes. We got caught out in the pouring rain and I definitely wish I had wore water shoes because the rushing water on all the steps completely soaked my shoes and my socks (I wasn't planning on swimming, I just came for the view). I was definitely regretting my life choices because I slipped and fell rushing to get out of the rain to protect my cell phone.
In the panic of the entire ordeal, I also got bitten by one of those big ants (at least that's what my driver said). I guess it must have hitched a ride somehow. The bite was stinging for at least an hour and a half with a small red bump, but it went down after that.
The path to the waterfall is mostly stairs. Going down wasn't the problem, but trek back had pretty steep stairs. I would not recommend attempting the stairs when it's pouring rain.

Nungnung waterfall is an amazing waterfall, can call one of the tallest waterfall in Bali. I put a recommendation for an adventurous type to visit the waterfall due to needs an extra effort to discover a hidden waterfall gem with 165 feet (50 meters). Once you reach the waterfall, you will be standing face-to-face with mighty beast water, difference experience with an amazing photo spots.
I can say that nungnung waterfall is less popular. I stayed almost 2 hours there, and I could see only 6 person visiting. That describes enough how natural wonder this waterfall should be enjoyed.
Over all, Nungnung waterfall is a stunning waterfall to visit. Enjoy!

It was a wonderful experience. Climb up the stairs can be tough if one isn't fit, but totally worth it. Waterfall is serene and beautiful, woods around are dense and thick. One can walk or swim up to the in the water as it is shallow. Though it is advisable to avoid going under the fall. It is amongst the better waterfalls in Bali and only a few people know about it.

Lovely spot. Great for a cooling swim after the big walk down. Recommend walking sandals for trek down and walking amongst bottom of waterfall. Requirement to be moderately fit to get back up the many steps. Local sellers provide drink and food stops on the way.

This waterfall is an amazing one. It's a hidden gem as not many people come here. If you are somewhat fit you can easily walk down the 250 steps to the waterfall. The steps are steep and uneven but there are railings. The view is sure to take your breath away

We paid IDR 10.000/person for the entrance fee + IDR 2.000 for the scooter. There were some shops and restaurants around the parking areas.
The way to waterfall includes several steep steps. It took us around 10 minutes to go down and 15 minutes to go up. Going up would be a challenge for those who are sick or not fit.
The waterfall was great. It had so much water and was not crowded. We arrived around noon and only 5 people were there. Some time after we had the place to ourselves. It is not easy to take good photos if the photo taking technique is not right. It was like a drizzle and our camera and phone lenses were wet all the time.
BEWARE of the shop at the top near the way down to the waterfall (not the one inside the scooter parking area). Bottles of water from the brand „Aqua“ were presented there. But when we asked to buy a bottle of water, the female owner sold us another brand of water from her refrigerator for IDR 8.000. The bottle was already open and looked really dirty. We decided to throw it away.

How long this water fall from Sekar nusa villa? And how much it does cost ? And while coming back can we visit kuta beach and do some shopping? So overall how much it would cost for cab? Share some contact number
Written October 15, 2018
hello, sekar nusa is in Kuta - Benoa area and it will take more than 2 hours to visit the waterfall Nungnung. You have to walk down about 30-45 minutes depending on your capacity to negotiate steep stairs. Then coming up also takes 45 minutes. So it is a full day's job and on return you can visit the beach. Cost should be 1.4-1.5Million IDR. You may contact a very reliable driver at Bali - Mr. Adhy (styas in Klungklung area) @ +62 812 39378353 and he will surely guide you with best possible options. Have a grate trip.

Hi guys i am visiting in september and i have a 16 month old baby, has anyone taken a toddler with them? Would it be advised? I really want to visit a waterfall when we come but just need it to be child friendly. Thanks in advance
Written July 28, 2017
You can see the waterfall from a distance, but if you want to go all the way close to it, you'll need to go down a pretty long, steep stone stairway. Let's just say that it wasn't made according to western/U.S. safety standards. I'm older, but on the hot day I visited, I decided that the stairway was too much and too steep. Personally, I don't think I would have been comfortable carrying a baby down, even when I was younger, unless it was urgent. But lots of other people went down and up, so it really depends on how you feel when you see it.

Hey, like everywhere on Bali, the fee for parking is quite low. If i remember right, it was abt. 35.000 IRP. The Parking fee is also the fee for entrance.
