Great golf and hospitality
Jan 2020 • Couples
Played golf and enjoyed the challenge and the scenery. The staff were welcoming and attentive to ensure the experience is positive. There was no rush as the tee times were well timed. The course is challenging and in very good condition... best of all we scored a relatively windless day!
We stayed and enjoyed a bbq buffet lunch which was amazing and well priced.
A great day!

Part of a tour with Gannet tours
Nov 2018 • Couples
If you want to see these birds as close as 1-2 meters in their breeding colony, you have to book the tour as the whole area is a private property.

But it is worth it

So much potential
Aug 2018 • Couples
This place is really so beautiful well it should be I feel it comes across alittle scummy now a days, the beach front for garnet viewing road across to camping is still not fixed the camp-site is very run-down and dreary looking it needs a revamp. Such a naturally beautiful place tho just alittle wasted.

Amazing cliffs
Mar 2018 • Couples
Just love looking at these cliffs, with their layers of geological information. Helpful to see as part of a gannet tour, so you hear the geological details.

nice beach walk
Mar 2018
excellent time pass walking across the beach, easy access and plenty of places to park cars, there’s a nice cafe (clifton cafe) near the parking lot. if you wanna do a tour to cape kidnappers, there’s gannet beach adventures which operates once a day near by. easy toilet access.
must visit.

Excellent beach walk
Feb 2018 • Couples
Need to get the tide times right here before setting out or you could get caught out. Parked at Clifton and set out firstly through the camp site and then on the beach. It was a hot day and there is no shade until you get to the shelter at Cape Kidnappers , 2 hours later, so take plenty of water. Fantastic views especially of the cliffs which tower above all the way. There is a smaller gannet colony to be walked by en route for the Cape? A must do walk if you are fit enough and in the area.

An informative adventure
Nov 2017 • Solo
A pleasant informative van through a private sanctuary to the massive Gannet rookery at the top of Cape Kidnappers.

Great walk to Gannet Colonies
Apr 2017 • Couples
We enjoy day walks when on holiday and this one rates highly. We had a perfect day - sea was flat, barely any wind and temp in the mid 20s. We started 3 hrs after high tide from Clifton Cafe as recommended and enjoyed a pristine beach and stunning views of cliffs similar to Rainbow Beach, Australia. Not a lot of shade but we did detour a few steps into a gully to sit under toi toi to eat our lunch. We were almost at the end of the beach (having seen the first area of nesting gannets) when the tractor ride people (x3 tractors) started passing us. Nice to have toilets, seating, drinking water and info displays in the trees. Then we did the short climb to the top where we were right up close to nesting gannets - amazing. And the views as well - stunning. I remember coming up here in the mid 70s. My dad drove us up (you could do that back then!!) but coming along the beach added a whole lot to the experience. We stopped back at the shelter on our way out and filled our water bottles. The walk back was a little easier as the tide was further out - definitely the way to do it - we didn't get our feet wet at all.
We were surprised that there weren't more walkers - just us 2 and a family of 4 (2 of them walked bare feet) But then again it was a full 5 1/2 hours all up and similar time for the other family. The tractor trip looked like a great way to do this if that amount of walking is too much. We were very tired by the end of it but had a very enjoyable day!

Great way to get to the gannets
Mar 2017
Instead of taking the tractor and trailer along the beach we paid a little extra to go overland by 4WD. Great guide, very informative trip, awesome scenery and views. The gannets were a delight to watch. The service right from our original booking was also tops

Gannet reserve worth the visit
Mar 2017 • Couples
The gannet reserve can be reached via a walk or tractor ride along the beach or from an overland bus tour. The gannets are used to people and their cameras. They fly and circle low over your head and around the colony
