This beach is a place where you will like wheter you are there judt alone, as a couple or with family & friends. Long sand dunes and nice access to the sea. For those who like waves there are also some around. Go and take a swim.

This is not Panama City, Florida, nor South Beach, nor Cancun, but the beach at Jose Ignacio is definitely worth a visit. Bring a sweater just in case.

A wonderful beach but beware, the beach bars get rebuilt at the beginning of the season (early December) and pulled down again at the end (April) so few facilities outside of these times. Many surfers and not many other people while we were there (early December! Windy at times and cool at night (December) but the stars were amazing!

The beach has crashing waves on one side of the lighthouse where the rocks are, and more "sedate" ones on the other side where the fishermen cast their rods off the sand. It is interesting that the sand on the right hand side of the lighthouse (facing it) is a little more pebbled and the left side's sand is more sugary. There were more people on that side......don't know why. It is a glorious beach in a town that is relatively quiet and small.....for now, at least. Don't know how long that'll last, because there seems to be a lot of construction.
