    Honest review
Well honestly I was dreading going here and spending the money on it which we did. There was 3 of us who went into the lounge. So we go there at 4am just as the lounge opened. Checking into the lounge was quick and easy. Jack showed us to the tables which were free for us to use so we could choose our own. We were soon sat down in a window seat. Yes the seats were comfy they had marks on and a few seams were burst but this lounge is used every day by travellers so it was never going to be spotless on the furniture. But it was still comfortable none the less. Saw another traveller taking photos of the seats as the marks were there on them. Not sure what people expect from a lounge used for that many hours a day it’s never going to remain spotless. The food was hot and plentiful. From cooked breakfast to pastries to fresh fruit and yogurt. It was self service for all of that. The lady working there was testing the temperature of the food including the yogurt to ensure obviously everything was at the temperature it should be so I’m unsure where the cold food I read about came from. But like I say each to their own when it comes to being happy. The lady behind the bar was very helpful and pleasant and polite as were the young lads who were clearing the plates away. Over all I’d suggest ignoring the negatives. As long as you have a booking and don’t wait in the virtual queue which with a booking you won’t have to do. This lounge is spot on and accommodates every need.

Well, I was dreading it, but ....
We visited the lounge early morning on September 20th. I'd read so many awful reviews, I'd wondered if it was even worth going, or if we should just put the money down as wasted . Anyway we turned up and guess what, it was nowhere near as bad as I thought. Sure it's worn, but the food was hot and fresh and regularly changed. The drinks both alcoholic and otherwise were fine and finally the staff were friendly and helpful. I really don't know what else you could expect, and believe me, I can moan for England if I feel it's deserved!! Honestly it's 100% better than the mammoth queues and metal seats that you get in the main waiting area. Go on, book it, it's worth it ( just about)

    Overbooked!
Thought we'd start the holiday off with a lounge booking. Seems good value considering the price of breakfasts in general airport restaurants. The setting was fine, the staff welcoming. The food was hot and nice. We managed to get breakfast, and then be there for change over for lunch. so lots of options. Hot drink machines were fine. But this is the first time ever we've had to queue to get an alcoholic drink. My husband was stood there for over 15mins, just for a pint - and given the queue he wanted to get two, but they would only serve him one at a time. The lounge was simply over booked. There was sooooooo many people in there. It was unpleasant. The only table available for for two - was situated right next to the cleaning cart, you know the one where the empty dishes get stacked up. So I was sat RIGHT next to it, so had the delight of having people's left overs scrapped into a bin (on the cart) about 4 inches from my shoulder. We tried to move, but there were zero other seats available. Would be fine, if they didn't cram people in!

Never again. Don't expect to Escape in this lounge....
I suffer from extreme anxiety and to ensure that I have a relaxing outward-bound journey to Fuerteventura, we ensured that several things were in place such as special assistance for boarding the plane early; along with the booking of your lounge in T2 of Manchester airport. The reason why we chose Escape was not only that we had used you pre2020 but also that you were experts in preholiday relaxation, or so we thought. When we arrived at the lounge we were asked to queue at a reception which seemed to be looking after 2 lounges. When we tried to book in members of the staff interrupted us with no apology to talk with the ladies on reception, and neither of them apologised for the interruption either, once booked in we were then asked to go to another member of staff, who booked us in again. He then escorted us to what can only be described as a school canteen. We were seated at a small table extremely close to two others with very little room to move on either side, and another table directly behind with a family of eight. There were no charging points close by to charge our mobile phones which held our boarding passes and the floors and tables around were very dirty. When we went to get food there was very little choice and as children had been allowed to serve themselves the salads were mixed with beetroot juice in the cold pastas and the bread on the side was very dry like it had been out for over a day. The hot food was not much better, the bacon was dry as were the sausages and chicken. My daughter refused point blankly to eat anything in fact all she had was one glass of coke and refused to have any of the water as she could see people messing around with the taps on the water butts. I was starting to get agitated so I asked the staff member if there was anywhere else quieter, with softer seating, the softer seating was available but not for families of just three we had to have at least four people. So he took us to an area that had just been opened up again another canteen area, but this time a little cleaner. We still did not eat anything as the food did not change, but we could see the other lounge with the softer seats and what looked like better food. I advised him how disappointed I was in both the service and the food, to which he asked if I wanted to speak with management, I stated I did but no one from management came to see me. In fact, he seemed to be the only member of staff willing to interact with any of the customers. I have raised a complaint and it is yet to be resolved. At this rate I can understand why Manchester Airport my City's Airport has been voted the worse in the country. Not good.

Tatty dirty furniture and poor food selection
Entered at 1100. Shown seats which were dirty and threadbare. Food choice poor but it was changeover from breakfast to lunch. Breakfast food looked like it had sat out for a long time. Bar staff didn’t know what rosé wine was or what a Bloody Mary was. Not worth the money anymore. Oh and NatWest DragonPass holders treated as second class customers by snotty reception staff

    Don't waste your money
Thought we'd start our holiday off with a nice chilled atmosphere some food and a couple of drinks . Not what we got. Yes we managed to chill the rest was a complete waste of money. The food. You couldn't make a meal all that was on offer spicy sausage, chicken wings,Mac and cheese. Some scabby salad and egg mayo and cheese filling sandwiches on cheap bread. Asked for a glass of wine. Given it in a champagne flute because all our glasses are dirty I was informed. An hour later went for another glass same problem only this time the barman took a glass from the bar and looked to see if there was anything in it. When I told him I wouldn't accept the glass as we didn't know if someone had used it I got a shrug of the shoulders. It's been a long day. All in all rubbish experience don't waste your money. Don't bother trying to lodge a complaint either the form doesn't allow you to. Plus when you hand your phone over with the email and confirmation the girl on the counter deletes all traces of it

    Not worth the money!
We were shown to a seat in a “back room” with coffee machines in it. No views just 3 bland walls. We paid£45 each for this privilege! We didn’t stay there long. I went to look in the area overlooking the airport and we upped and moved there. Tables took ages to be cleared from previous travellers. Most staff seem to walk really slowly as they move around eventually clearing tables. I’ve previously used Escape lounge in T1 and T3. Both are lovely and welcoming but as T2 is now all brand new they seem to think it’s acceptable to charge an extra £15 per person over the cost for Escape lounges in T1 and T3. Massively overpriced!

    Sadly mediocre
Used this lounge many times as a solo traveller so what’s the difference to been in a group where you are seated is important so you can get food and beverages with confidence you can’t carry food and manage hand luggage so be cause you are solo you are put in a corner the furthest away from everything ! This was sorted quickly by another member of staff. Soft drinks were fine and the coffee food only had a bacon sandwich. The issue was that the area I was sat in was full of small flies! Not sure but I call these fruit flies. I reported this to the staff. So sadly I left as I was put off. Cleanliness is still very important to me and if a place has flies they are breeding somewhere
Dear Yorkshire-Rose-uk, We appreciate you taking the time to leave a rating and we are sorry we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Please help us to understand what we can do to improve by contacting us at enquiries@escapelounges.com with further details. Kind regards, Escape Team

    Very disappointed ☹️
Family of 8 all booked separately for a good start to our holiday away from the bustle of the half term travellers. The first thing the overview says on the description is sit back and relax…..that is first of all incorrect. I don’t normally leave any poor reviews as I am firm believer in voicing your problem at the time and hope for a resolution but that felt unfair to complain to the only saving grace of the place was the chap seating everyone with a smile on his face. It’s the management that needs to hear this complaint about how many people you allow to book this and leave it to your staff to handle the fall out!! Obviously felt like a money making exercise rather than a ‘different and relaxed experience!’ Felt like a 1 star hotel all you can eat buffet with overcrowding and dirty tables everywhere! Long queues to even get in and nothing appetising to eat Advice - spend your money in one of the restaurants in the terminal that looked serene, clean and relaxed with table service!

    Always a good place
Not sure where the bad reviews come from. Used this lounge a number of times. Food good and replenished frequently. Nice quiet place to relax before your flight with guaranteed seats and away from the madness. Jack at the bar was fun, friendly and professional and tables cleared quickly. Will return for our next flight
Hi Claccer, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our lounge. We're glad to hear that you found our food to be good and regularly replenished. It's fantastic that you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and guaranteed seating away from the chaos. We'll make sure to pass your kind words to Jack for his excellent service. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next flight. Safe travels!

We booked for the escape lounge for the 8th August 2020. It was £25 per person and was such a waste of money.
Apart from being aware from being really close to everyone in the airport, there was nothing else this lounge really had to offer.

When we first arrived we had to wait 20 minutes before being seated, and we were seated in some horrible chairs and a really small table (about shin height). They had clearly over booked the lounge because we were not social distanced from other tables and people would take their masks off even though they were not eating or drinking. No one would tell them off and it just felt unsafe.

Due to COVID, it is waiter service. Our server was really slow and kept bringing us the wrong things. You could only order one drink at a time which made the whole process even slower.

The drinks were rubbish - flat coke, Prosecco and a small beer. The food was even worse - it came out cold and tasted horrific. To make matters even worse they were sold out with half the stuff even though we arrived at 1pm.

Apart from the server that checked us in at the beginning, the waiter was blunt and slow. They needed to have more servers working.

Unless they re look at opening a buffet with masks and gloves, I would not recommend booking this lounge. It is a waste of money. So disappointed.

Hi M1791TFgraceh I am so sorry that your visit to the lounge was not a pleasant one. We have taken steps to ensure that all Covid safety measures are in place and we do allow guests once sat at there tables to remove masks. In terms of the service it is indeed different to what we have offered in the past and as a team we have adapted as quickly as possible to try and ensure we meet guest expectations. Again I apologise if on this occasion we did not meet that standard. We hope you would consider trying us again in the future. We hope you had a pleasant onward journey Regards T2 Escape Team

My wife and I had booked a table in advance, looking forward to a relaxing breakfast, when we arrived the lounge looked like a chaotic waiting room. We were shown to our "table" which was tiny, about shin high and we had to share with another couple. The other lady had spilt something in her case so she spent the whole time with the open case at our feet cleaning it out, she was just as crammed in as ourselves. I was looking forward to a full English breakfast but felt unable to eat this on my lap so had to go for the convenience of a bacon roll. £56 for two wines, two bacon rolls and two coffees from a vending machine seems extortionate to me, we would have been far better off in the main airport lobby with a sandwich. We asked for a complete refund in writing only to be offered a discount on our next visit, we repeated our demand for a refund and have heard nothing since. Avoid this place at all costs.

Arrived at this lounge as a Dragon Pass holder, there was 50 people in a queue. Someone else trying to get in was the bearer of bad news to say that it wasn’t possible unless you had pre booked to get access. How can that be? As a regular flyer and having a card, you cannot pre book the lounge. The service here is appalling.
All the restaurants in T2 also have to be queued for at least 1 hour. The service here is appalling.

T2 owners and operators you should be ashamed of yourselves and get this sorted otherwise who would want to fly from T2.

Dear Thenickstringer We are sorry about not able to access the lounge when you wanted. Please be assured that we try to allow any loyalty cards access to the lounge as often as we can. This does vary day to day. As clearly stated on your DP T&C, access to the lounge is subject to availability.

I booked this as a nice treat to start of the holiday and knowing the terminal would be busy thought great somewhere to sit, no queues for food etc. Absolute waste of money! I paid £97 for 2 adults and 1 child. No hot food apart from a small amount of soup the salad had been out for sometime and had started to brown everything else had run out and they were in no rush to replenish anything. The only food we managed to get was a plate of cheese and biscuits.
The syrup of the coke machines had all run out so only lemonade available and no soft drinks available from the bar. Limited seating and what was available was covered in dirty plates and cups. Unless you are a hardcore drinker avoid at all costs a complete waste of money

Very poor , place is dirty lack of seating I paid £159 for this and was very disappointed , I have a complex disability and can’t digest certain foods , ask for some toast and a poach egg to be refused, the rude manager Christine dismiss my disability and called me awkward . Never again worst airport lounge I’ve ever been too.

Arrived to book in for the lounge as we had it booked through TUI Premium and we arrived 3hrs before the flight only to be told we cannot book in until 2 1/2 hours before the flight, even though they state on line 3hrs for the lounge. People that had booked independently and were on the same flight booked in 3 hrs ahead of the flight, so it would seem that the premium guests are treated differently. Only one person booking people in and the queue was very long and to have to go to the back again was very annoying. They need to get their act together as to how long you are allowed regardless of an independent booking or through TUI Premium.

Awful place, family group of 9 all booked in, 3 of the party left to eat elsewhere as food was awful, cold pasta, dried out sandwiches. The queue for bar was long, seats were very uncomfortable. Waste of money, we would have saved money by eating at tge overpriced restaurants in airport instead, and food would have been better. Won't book for any of the T2 lounges again.

Shouldn't really share this secret because the Aspire Lounge gets booked up so early but in all truthfulness the Escape Lounge is a poor substitute in all respects. The seating is not as good, there are no panoramic windows or loungers and the food is not as good or plentiful.
Having said that the staff are always very pleasant and it is better than waiting in a crowded lounge downstairs.

Visited in February at 7.30 in morning. We were given entrance as part of our flight tickets. We were greeted and led to a choice of seats. There are armchairs and low tables or table seats. We found it quiet and comfortable compared to what was a very busy Terminal. The food and drink were just what we needed. We didn’t try the alcohol as it was early but tea, coffee and fresh juice were good. There was a good choice of both hot and cold food. I had a tradition breakfast that was great for me. One thing that impressed me was that the staff were continually checking and replenishing the food and drink plus there were staff clearing and tidying the lounge. There were complimentary newspapers & magazines.
Overall, I thought it was a great place to relax after the hustle of check-in and security. The staff seemed committed to giving good service. I would certainly use again
