I have done quite a lot of VIP lounge visits and almost I won’t do it any other way so I have sampled a fair share of lounges across the UK.

This was a first visit to T2 Escape Lounges and I was impressed by what looked like a revamped/refurbished lounge. Everything looked fresh and tidy and modern.

We had to wait for a small queue at 6am on the front of desk to book us in but was sorted in 10 mins. The bar was staffed comfortably and the usual free drinks on offer with most of our group taking advantage of a Buck’s Fizz.

The lounge has all the mod cons to charge phones, access internet, news and flight information.

There was a good selection of food with English Breakfast, Continental and cereals for people to tuck into. I did also like the cameo fridge nearby that was stacked to the top of Estella Damn which was to help yourself with a bottle opener nearby.

Staff were very quick to clean away empty plates and glasses. What was new that I have never had done before was that when we checked in, the staff used our boarding pass info to do an over the tannoy announcement in the lounge for our flight to make us aware we was boarding. They also did this for other passengers, that was a nice touch.

When we left, the queue for the lounge was pretty large at 9am, I think the staff could have done with an extra helping hand at the reception to clear that back log, so whilst it didn’t hinder me at all, it could have caused complaints or some negative comments on other reviews after.

We had access to this lounge as flying premium economy. The food was not great (breakfast) and comparing this to other lounges we have used previously, there is no comparison at all. Overcrowded and basic. I would not use again, even if it is included in price of flight!

Okay so I got this for free, so not particularly complaining.

However if I was to pay for it, my suggestion would be to go to the restaurants in the terminal instead.

This place is on par with the No1 Lounge, only difference is you get a full hot breakfast with cheap ingredients.

Packed to the rafters, full of kids putting their hands in the food and no toilets. So you have to exit the lounge to find a toilet within the airport that hasn’t got a mile long queue.

Teally gone downhill. Dirty, scruffy, over crowded! I initially was seated in one of the side rooms - no atmosphere whatsoever! Plain, unwelcoming! Took it upon myself to move into the main lounge - which was a bit better! Food ok but more like a canteen. Dress code seemed to of gone out the window! Won’t be rushing back.

Food and drinks excellent value. Staff working hard to keep the tables cleaned

The downfall is that considering it has only been open a few months the place is getting very tired. Carpets and chairs are disgusting and should be cleaned with immediate effect

Wetherspoons on crack. Don’t bother. Long walk from security. Queue to get in. Hot. Uncomfortable chairs nothing lounge about it. Noisy. Pics are small area we were shoved in the back dark corner. Will be complaining and I want half my money back. What is the point I could have gone to a normal cafe. Complete waste of money.

Ats not the greatest, but with the cost of food and drink at the terminal it's well worth it. Lost of drinks on offer, tea, coffee and really nice hot chocolate, they're all help yourself. Food is basic, but they replenish them often. Had some excitement when we first arrived though, we were evacuated, that was a fiasco, as a wheelchair user we were passed from pillar to post, put in a refuge area but not sent any porter to rescue us... Good job it was a false alarm. Some prat set it off "accidentally"...

Erm what can I say 80 odd quid for some powdered scrambled egg , tomatoes and a waitress who's face could sink a thousand ships , maybe give her a pay rise and she might be half happy to be at work serving holiday makers . It was also ram packed and we were left sat on a wobbly table , so won't be doing that again

Dear bexy123 We're sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. We do have our on chefs that prepare all our breakfast fresh and cooked to order every day. We are also an extremely busy lounge and at peak we will be busy with most seats in use but we ensure tables are available for all bookings. Sorry to hear you felt the service you received from one member of the team to be less than friendly and we will investigate this further. Many thanks for your feedback as we are always looking at ways to improve. Thank you, Escape Team.
