About
Away from the hustle & bustle of the terminal, we offer a place to take some time out before your flight. There’s simply no better way to get your journey off to a flying start! Catch up on the news with our range of complimentary newspapers, enjoy WiFi or simply sit back & relax. Whilst in our lounge, you can enjoy delicious food and drink. At breakfast we offer traditional hot items to cereals, fruits and pastries. From lunchtime onwards we have hot food options such as succulent chicken, spicy curry and other tasty options, as well as fresh salads, sandwiches and a selection of cakes and biscuits. Our bar is well stocked with drinks such as wines, beer and spirits, alongside tea, coffee, soft drinks and fresh fruit juice. We won’t lie, we are not a full-service restaurant offering an a la carte menu but we offer great food and drinks at whatever time of day you visit and it’s all included within your booking price*. *Champagne not included. Available for purchase in Lounge.

    Wel done Escape lounge
    The lounge is well run with a large selection of foods and drinks. Unlike some of the lounges the prosecco is free, no extra charges once you have paid. Well decorated with plenty of seating and friendly staff. Disadvantages: Reserved seats not very clear, whilst we were there, twenty people came to the seats next to us, they were reserved, but the flat card used to mark the reserved seats is not visible until you are 4-5 feet away (Would suggest some form of bright card in possibly a cube or pyramid shape, that can be seen easily. Toilets are outside the lounge, but not very far away. Advantages Large lounge with traditional eating tables and chairs, as well as lounging chairs, quiet areas out of the eating area. Food regularly refreshed, coffee machines clean and tidy.

    Very disappointing
    We prebooked this lounge as we were going on our honeymoon so wanted a treat! We were told to go and sit in the room behind the food and bar, which we went to, however there was a toddler in there blaring their iPad - not relaxing at all! So we moved and sat elsewhere. Don’t know if there should be a rule on this. The food was average at best, it was lunch time. There was half the food left from breakfast, and then some sandwiches, crisps and salad. The bar was great. I asked if I could use the baby change that was located in the lounge, but was told it’s best to use the one that was outside of the lounge and a walk back through into the terminal. Very annoying and strange??? There was no windows so it was boiling and also very dark. It was kind of like a budget waiting room, not a luxury lounge. We paid £70 for the experience - definitely not worth it at all.

    Could be better
    This was my first visit and I would not repeat the experience. There was nothing wrong with the food/drinks, or the staff but with no windows and natural light, it feels dark and depressing. I was greeted by a nice guy, who checked me in, and directed me to one of the single seats, around the back of the lounge. The seats are not particularly comfortable, and the tables a bit small and the overall feeling is that you are in a big box, shoved away in the corner of the airport. As I say, the food was fine, and the staff perfectly pleasant but it just doesn't make you feel that relaxed before your flight.

    Avoid- poor with no standards
    We booked a space in the Escape Lounge in Terminal 1 before our holiday and it was not great. There were children running around who were screaming along with their parents shouting after them. They claim to have a dress code which is not enforced- lots of men in baseball caps and women wearing hardly any clothes- great if that’s your thing but hardly a classy venue. Several people walked in to use the lounge with their credit cards and were told it was full- it wasn’t there was always around 15 empty seats…. Shoddy at best and I would seriously avoid booking this

    Ok for drinks, food poor
    Food was all very bland and not great quality, we were there from breakfast to lunch, so had both menus. Sausages at breakfast were ok, typical cheap sausages, rest of it meh. Lunch menu wasn’t much of an improvement, basic sandwiches and a few hot dishes. The Thai green curry ok, same for the cottage pie. Staff, one very helpful, rest pretty surly and unhelpful- we’re trying to get some salt and pepper/sauces and were just pointed to the empty station where they were supposed to be… It was pretty full, we were lucky to get some seats. Thankfully the alcohol was free flowing, so we got our money worth’s there.

    Good value/not good Prosecco.
    At around £35 per person this is an excellent value lounge. We arrived around 11am so breakfast was still on but it was moving into lunch. Food wise breakfast was traditional cooked items, white bread rolls, coffee/ tea machines, all tasted great. Lunch was a select of sandwiches, cheese and biscuits and crisps and also meals like sweet potato Thai curry, rice, cottage pie, cauliflower cheese, potatos. All tasty and filled regularly. Beer and Guinness cans and bottles are just help yourself and there’s a bar serving unbranded spirits and wine/prosecco. Point to note, if it’s Prosecco you’re going for I didn’t think it tasted very nice, it lost its sparkle quickly and was on draught. A lot of guests left theirs too. Plenty of seats and the only annoyance are uncontrolled kids and semi drunk parents. Not enough charging points/sockets really either. Good value though, would go again.

    The best experience we had out of many times using lounges
    Entered the lounge at 8.30am on 6th March. Was very impressed with the food offerings as well as the friendly staff. We have used these lounges many times but this was the best experience we have had in any of them. We must mention Jonathan who was not only customer focused but a very friendly and professional staff member.

    Food ok, drink selection good. Bit of a problem finding somewhere to sit, i think this could be organised much better. I was not impressed with the way i presume some kind of supervisor/manager (who's name i have, if you care to know please message me) spoke to the 2 bar staff in the most derogatory way in front of a bar full of customers. I was very shocked how she spoke to them. Apparently the rule is one drink per person, and obviously if people are in a couple, you shouldn't have to both leave your belongings far away at your table to go and order a drink each - how ridiculous!! She ordered/shouted at the bar staff that this was the rule. I thought this behavior was totally out of order and unnecessary, if she needed to have a word with them it shouldn't have been done in front of customers in such an unprofessional manner. It was embarrassing for the bar staff and the customers waiting. I really don't think ordering 2 drinks at a time is outrageous but her behavior certainly was.

    Great start to our holiday.... Thanks Matt
    Really rate this airport lounge, was a great start to our holiday. The food was hot with plenty of choice. Buffet style so no waiting for being served (which I've experienced with other lounges). Could do with some more private seating and cocktails at the bar would be a great addition. Just wanted to give a shout-out to Matt (manager I think) who was really courteous and friendly. He showed excellent customer service and really helped us out with a couple of issues... As well as introduce us to a new card game

    Awful experience, not at all what we expected
    The lounge was over crowded and loud. The seating available when we arrived was in a pokey dark corner. All the lounges we have been in previously, have lovely big windows giving views of the planes and runway. Not here. It was grim. We had to sit at a low table making it really difficult to eat. I booked this as a surprise for my husband’s birthday. I read the terms of the lounge before we arrived and in terms of dress code, it made it sound far more classy than it was. I told my husband he wasn’t allowed to wear his baseball cap!! Loads of people had cheap football kits and baseball caps! This was suppose to be a relaxing drink and some food before we flew. The food was awful, choices were not good. They appeared to run out of meat so my husband got the last chicken leg, and the last sausage, and the rest of the hot food was cauliflower cheese or mash. No more meat arrived so I ended up with a plate of cauliflower cheese. The drinks were okay, Prosecco on tap which was drinkable. All in all, not worth a penny of what I paid and would certainly not be going again. Really disappointing start to the holiday.

Booked and paid in advance to guarantee entry. (Clearly stated on the booking website)On arrival we was refused entry. The manager stated that unfortunately for us they had taken in excess of 150 bookings in error and they had run out of food and drinks. Offered no cash refund and advised to claim back the fee via email. Still awaiting a response and cash. In these uncertain times the airport terminal was extremely busy and the food eateries where full, we ended up with a sandwich from boots and one of our party being a coeliac had to make do with fruit and a bar of chocolate due to no gluten-free product available in airport shops. We had specifically booked the lounge to allow us to access the gluten-free option. No prior notice via email / phone was given to us to inform us of the error they hade made. Also on speaking to other paying customers they had been given various excuses to the reason they could not also gain access. No consistency with this company. Honesty would of been appreciated and also a phone call wouldn’t of gone a miss

Fantastic! We booked the lounge as a couple flying for a short break and I can’t lie, I was a tad anxious due to reading mixed reviews on here. We arrived earlier than our pre booked slot however had no issue entering the lounge and the lady on the desk was very friendly and welcoming. The lounge was modern and clean with a good variety of snacks and drinks to help yourself to with spirits and draught alcohol available at the bar. I opted to help myself to the bottles of lager from the fridge and my partner had Gins from the bar. I was genuinely surprised at how good value for money the facility was and my own disappointment is that we had never used an airport lounge before however we will definitely return. We did witness the lounge staff get a bit of a hard time from people who were turning up expecting entry despite there being a sign outside stating it was at full capacity. The staff remained professional and were dealing with individuals in a consistent manner as the Escape lounge was the only lounge open I’m assuming due to covid/ reduced footfall. All in all, a fab way to start our short break and as previously stated we will return.

I’m a Dragonpass user I tried to book the lounge and pay the fee however pre-book was not available and surprise, surprise we were turned away

I’ve now discovered that in its typical greedy and spiteful money driven way, MAN airport has stopped allowing aggregator cardholders to pre-book, meaning that on top of our monthly NatWest Dragonpass subscription they want us to book via their website and pay £50 per couple to get in the lounge. The chances are you’ll get less than an hour due to the chaos in checkin and security so no way I’m doing that.

So am seriously questioning the point of Dragon-pass membership as the airport has passengers over a barrel with their cynical tactics.

This was the last Redeemable feature of a broken, failing airport that puts money before everything (yet it’s council owned !).

End of rant.

There is no dress case at all. Many people dressed very grim and tatty. Some very loud. Food not so good either. Certain miserable staff with attitude as though you are entering the Ritz and you are below them! If you have a pass card such as Priority pass or Lounge Key the automatic greeting is ‘sorry we are full’! Always, this has happened so many times we will not rerun again. The lounge opposite (Aspire) is much better with good food and pleasant welcoming staff. I wouldn’t recommend booking Escape unless you plan on drinking lots of alcohol and enjoy being amongst a bus trip to Benidorm.

What a rip-off!! Disgusting!! We thought we would at least get a decent breakfast!! Not a chance!! The scrambled eggs were desiccated and looked like they had been there since yesterday. The potato lumps were inedible. If you are vegetarian you are out of luck here. The bacon and sausage were passable. No toast just some sad looking pastries with a blue bottle crawling over them. There were some sad pieces of dried up fresh fruit which were unripe! No bottles of water just a stand pipe dispensing tepid chemical flavoured liquid. Yet if you want you can drink as many cans of lager as you want - no problem! Bottom line - unless you plan to use this dungeon of a lounge (no windows) for drinking vast quantities of alcohol it is an abject waste of money.

The staff were exceptionally helpful & accommodating before and after our visit. 8 of us travelled to Dublin & we knew it would be hard to book or sit close to each other on separate bookings. However in arrival (after several emails to a very helpful customer service) we were all sat next to each other.
pleasant staff & lovely experience. Food fab as always - we use the lounge every flight we take - never had a single issue.

The worst business management I have ever experienced. I have never felt so unwanted and unwelcome as a customer.

The place was overcrowded, chaotic, and inadequately cleaned and staffed. We were seated (with no choice) in the dining area on hard chairs. We ordered soup and a sandwich from the absolutely basic menu (just soup and a sandwich) Even this hadn't arrived 40 minutes later,despite reminders. So we left, along with others - who also had not been served. Oh, and the place doesn't even have its own loos. Can anyone believe that?

The public concourse was more comfortable, quieter, and less crowded, had loos, offered better seating arrangements, and at least we could buy food and drink.

The lounge promised this for our £52: "Relax & unwind, Escape the hustle and bustle of the main airport, Food & drink included, Choose from a wide range of quality food and drinks".

They completely failed to provide any of it. I have requested a full refund and I expect to get it since the business has breached all of the above promises. If not, I shall pass it to my card issuer to deal with.

I see bad review after bad review for this place, responded to with with Cut and Paste platitudes. They are in the service industry. If they can't manage their business, then they should close it down.

Dirty and uncooked food, sausages are raw bacon is over cooked nearly chipped a tooth it was that hard, everything else is dry and stale! drinks well u cant help yourself and are poured a mediocre serving when you do get served. Back to the uncooked food i did make one of the girls in the loung aware the sausages are raw and was smiled at and ignored would not recommend this lounge. Theres no windows no tv on ur just sat staring at a bland wall you would be better saving your money and going to one of the restaurants in the terminal, not all are like this though i would recommend lounge 1903 now thats worth your money, dont waste your time and cash on this lounge you will be left disappointed!

We always book a lounge on departure day if our flight times mean we can, but this was obviously going to be a different experience with the covid pandemic ongoing.

We booked the lounge a couple of weeks ago when our flight time changed and it meant we could use it for breakfast before our flight.

We booked through Holiday Extras and we are 5 people. When we arrived at the lounge reception it was explained that under new Covid measures the tables are for a maximum of 4 people but they had reserved two tables for us and they were next to each other. It was absolutely fine and we could still easily speak to each other.

The Covid measures mean the food and drink is now table service, but the menu was extensive (basically the same as when it was a buffet). The exception was coffee/tea/water which you did still help yourself to from a machine.

Our server was exceptionally attentive and so lovely and friendly. She came to check if we wanted anything at least every 20 minutes. We were in there for 2 hours and didn’t feel we had eaten or drunk less than when it was a buffet.

Covid measures included some screens between tables, social distance markings and a one way system to use the coffee machine, completing test track and trace information on the reverse of your menu, and wearing a face mask whilst moving around the lounge (though it could be removed whilst sitting at your table.)

It was a lovely relaxing start to our holiday. Thank you.

We arrived a little late (at 3.10 for a 2.30 booking) only to be told that the lounge was shut. There were clearly people inside and in any event our booking should have been valid until 4.00 pm. Clearly the duty manager wanted to go home, was extremely rude and would not refund our payment.

2 weeks on and I am still awaiting a response.
