About
If you're looking for a beach that's quiet but not totally secluded, Cupecoy is a good choice. Its white sands are backed by low sandstone cliffs that have been eroded in such a way that they provide a run of small semiprivate coves.

Beautiful water and caves
Aug 2021
Absolutely loved the beach and caves. If you dont know where to go it is difficult to find; but once you find the caves, they are amazing! Be cautious for nudes in the caves.

Don’t Miss a Cupecoy Beach Sunset! The Caves are Cool!
Jul 2021 • Family
We visited Cupecoy beach and found a little cave area in the rocks that provided all day shade and was free! The waves were a little big but we enjoyed the snorkeling along the rocks! The sand was super soft and just a beautiful sight with all the ships, boats and airplanes come across the bay. The hurricane was in the ocean making the waves crash in the day we were there so the water was a little murky to snorkel! We loved watching sunset there! It’s such a great sunset spot!

Not much of a beach
Apr 2021
While the colors of the cliffs are beautiful - especially contrasted with the color of the water - I'm not exactly sure why this is listed as a beach, since there isn't really one to speak of. It's mostly all rocks and I wouldn't feel safe swimming here. I do hear that it's a prime spot to watch the sunset though!

Disappointed
Mar 2021
If you find the parking lot, off a blind driveway after the mall, you will then need to walk a windy path to get to the area to get to the beach. The trick is to go down a very steep cement stairway. The beach is also VERY small. If the wind is excessive, you won’t be able to swim. My recommendation is to skip going.

Interesting vibe, nude beach
Mar 2021
I hiked around the different coves first to get a feel for the place - really cool hiking path. Nude beach is amazing. Very friendly people lol. Loved it, felt free. Bar is very chill and there’s parking there too.

Perfect beach to watch the sunset
Feb 2021
Beautiful beach! The sunsets here are AMAZING. Danny’s beach bar is a good place to grab a drink. It is a little rough to swim in at certain parts along the beach but as long as you avoid the rocks it’s fine!

Sunset on the beach
Mar 2020 • Couples
The sunset was beautiful. The best, a must experience. DANNY'S drinks are on point.
The secluded location makes it authentic and original. Cheers SXM 🍻

Amazing Island!
Jan 2021
We stayed in the area of Maho/Cupecoy on the Dutch side this trip. Rented an apartment for 5 weeks. St. Martin has some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. The nude beach in Cupecoy is small but secluded and absolutely gorgeous. An amazing spot to nude sunbathe, and take in the sunset! Of course, you can also go to Orient Beach on the French side, and enjoy the company of many others - it's nude on one side (and very busy!), and non-nude on the other. We went at least two or three times a week to Orient as you can meet lots of cool, sexy people. The bars like Kontiki are a great post-beach place to go for a drink and chat with the new friends you made on Orient! The restaurants in Orient Village are literally some of the best French Restaurants you can enjoy outside of France. We also spent a ton of time on the Dutch side and enjoyed amazing restaurants like Sale and Pepe, Roxxys, Ludos, and more. Also check out Oceans 82 in Grand Case, absolutely amazing.

St. Maarten's Most Interesting Beach
Sep 2020
My wife and I enjoyed a sunny day on the Eastern section of Cupecoy. We parked in the dirt lot next to Sapphire Beach Club (Google Maps lists as Cupecoy Public Parking). It's a short walk to the beach from there. New concrete stairs make getting down to the beach easy. This portion of Cupecoy is about 1/10th of a mile long. Coves in the cliff allow for privacy and shade (plenty of room to find the perfect spot). Nude remains an acceptable option on Cupecoy, so we were not surprised to see several sans the suit. There are no restrooms nor food/beverage options on this portion of Cupecoy, so come prepared.

We drove down to Danny's later (located closer to the roundabout). It was late enough in the day that we parked for free near the bar. A quintessential beach bar, Dannys has license plates nailed to the ceiling, wooden beach stools and that very cool caribbean vibe. The rum punch and Danny's homemade Guava Berry rum were delicious. Danny himself was super friendly. Service was great. With $2 beers, no need to bring a cooler on future trips. This part of the beach is usually more rocky, but favorable tides have dumped a lot of sand there lately. While the larger beach can be enjoyed at Danny's, it's a very short walk from the bar (back towards the East) to the stairs that lead to the caves (which we decided to save for a future trip). We enjoyed our day at Cupecoy and highly recommend it.
