We went with the idea we would have a tour and tasting. We had to pay for the tour and were told to tell the guide we only spoke english. The guide proceeded to explain everything in spanish, no english at all. At the end there was no tasting and the guide proceeded to pass his tip glass around. Not impressed at all.

Had couple of hours to kill before observatory and decided to visit the brewery, as we already visited multiple pisco distillers and wineries.

They found someone to give us a tour in English.
Beer was delicious (all natural) and food was great.
Nice decor too.

Highly recommend for a great local craft beer experience.

They offer a good beer tasting option which is a perfect side to the excellent pizzas they have on offer. It’s not an easy spot to get to without a car and best to plan en route between Vicuna and Elqui Valley.

If you are around the Elqui Valley, I’d recommend a quick stop at Guyacan. They carry a very nice beer and have some nice fliers to taste them!

I didn't take the tour, seen so many breweries already, so went directly to the beer garden. Lots of room, loved the vibe and the taste of the beer. Only drawback was that only a third of the food menu was available. It is tourist season after all.

Ughhh I was really hoping to have a cool brewery experience at this place but the person doing the tasting was just not friendly, at all! There were two Spaniards who were doing the tasting in front of me and the girl was describing the beers in depth with them and I was anxious to jump in but waited for them to finish and then I did the tasting with the girl who was working there that day. Boy did her attitude change with me... I'm not sure if it's because I'm a gringa or what but I was speaking to her in Spanish and all she could tell me was the percentage alcohol level of each beer. No information on how it's made, the different flavors it has, nothing! Not to mention she looked really pissed off and just bothered that I was even there (mind you I was one of FIVE people total in the whole place!). I ended up ordering the IPA and the two Spaniards invited me to their table and we had a lovely conversation.

If you're going to have a brewery, people are going to want to hear about the beers and the process the brewery has to make their beers. I was surely disappointed with how I was treated.

For the Guayacan Brewery, I went to the brewery on Tuesday August 1st around 14:00. A young lady was working behind the bar that day.

Thank you very much for your comment and for explaining de details of your disapointment. The information of the day and hour for is an excelent tool in order to talk to her and improve our service. We are very sorry that you had a bad experience. We work really hard every day in order to produce good quality beer and give a good service for our customers, and this kind of issues makes our efforts not worth it. We arrived at the restaurant one afternoon wanting to drink a cold beer and have a little snack. Unfortunately the three waiter were so busy talking to themselves or staring at their cellphones, that we decided to leave after 15 minutes (there was only one other table occupied). What a shame!

The beer garden is great, but the service when we went was a little disappointing. It took a long time to order drinks and when I did, they were out of beer mugs, so I had to wait until they quickly washed some out in order to get my drinks. Also, they closed their kitchen for an hour and I couldn't order food. Could have just been a busy day and they were overwhelmed, but we made the trip all the way there and didn't feel like it was worth it. Good beer though!

The location is a few km outside Vicuña but once you are there it’s very relaxing. They didn’t have the tours going as we arrived for an early lunch but the beers were really good. Especially enjoyed the Stout. Really unique collection of local indigenous art on the walls of the beer garden. Beware the portion sizes, we had to be wheeled out. Also, try the taproom in Vicuña, our favorite of the in town meals we had during our trip. Menu and beer flight explanation were both in English which is nice for us non-fluent Spanish speakers. Staff was diligent and helpful. Recommended stop for a lazy afternoon.
