One of the best places to see in the Elqui valley. Very beautiful place that we totally recommend...

Found this by accident while driving from La Serena to Vicuña. It isn't really referenced in guides to the area. You can walk out onto the dam and get a beautiful view over the valley. To the rear side, the small lake is a stunning emerald green color. It's very windy and there is a wonderful metal sculpture at the entry to the walkway across the dam. The sculpture was commissioned by the residents of the area. It vibrates at varying frequencies based on the wind gusts and is really worth visiting just for this.

It is a beatiful dam, with some fishes included. There is few information about construction, volumen of water or any other interesting data about the dam.

This is a nice stop in the way to Elqui. The view is just amazing and it worth to spend 15-30 minutes there. The place is for free. There is a charge of 300 pesos for the restroom

The view of the lake with the surroundings is beautiful. No need for a lot of time in here unless you want to sit and enjoy the view, can definitely fit as "on the way" stop.

Not having done very thorough reseach we came across this unexpectedly on our way to Vicuña. It was very windy but hot. Nice views. It was even a highlight of our 10 year old granddaughter's 5 day holiday in La Serena. Recommend you stop.

Just spend a weekend there for going kite surfing. The place is nice, people are friendly and the wind is constant. Apart of the sport it is quite relaxed. Several wine yards and pisco breweries around to be visited.

Nice place to stay and easy to reach via La Serena (ca.55 Km) by car.

I was only able to see it from the outside, since they have a visiting schedule published on the networks, which corresponds to summer time, which is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., however, in the first week of December, I was not able to access the premises, since the visiting hours were winter and corresponded to 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and I arrived after 4 p.m.

Very nice everything, it has parking, some stalls to drink coffee and eat something plus souvenirs and bathrooms (500 pesos per person) there is beautiful view of the reservoir plus some guys have an enterprise where they record you with drone and have a view more in the air of everything. As an extra tip go warm as it is very windy.
