Very good tour and close to the center of Vicuña. Being a tourist center, they also have a small village of artisans (Don Sergio is a great artist). The value of the tour was $5,000 with some free drinks. 100% recommended.

We toured this Pisco distillery as part of a cruise ship tour. The facility is nicely maintained and the staff were very helpful. Our guide has previously worked at the distillery and was allowed to give of the tour and overview of how Pisco was made. At the end, there were samples and a gift shop with reasonable prices.

This was worth the visit.

Muchas Gracias Massiel. Really enjoyed our personal English language tour of Capel Pisco distillery. Special thanks to Massiel who gave us the tour and who spoke very good English. Guide was very friendly and we had a very nice chat about Pisco and distilleries. A good price at 4000 pesos for the basic tour. It was great to get a tour staright away, even though there were just two of us as we were afraid they would wait for more non-Spanish fluent visitors. We also liked getting the gift of a glass. The best bit was that the Pisco tastes great!!!

Our tour of the Capel Pisco Cooperative was much better than expected. It was part of the La Serena & Elqui Valley tour booked through Holland America. We thought that the distillery tour would be a minor part of our tour but it turned out to be a highlight. It is one of Chile's biggest spirits companies and producer of pisco (national drink of both Chile and Peru). The area is quite dry, as we are just south of the Atacama Desert. While the grapes are irrigated, the gardens were filled with cacti.

Very touristy. Pretty much this place is just to sell pisco to tourists.

We visited here because this is the Pisco capital of the world, well, this and Pisco Elqui. There was nothing wrong with it but it's probably something that would interest anyone who likes Pisco or just likes touring factories. The tour is in Spanish only, so if you don't speak the language you'll miss a lot. At the end there is the customary pisco tasting; I was surprised at the variety which Capel makes. One tasted like Margaritas, one tasted like whiskey, one tasted like Bailey's - they were all very good. We bought a couple of bottles in their gift shop on the way out and have been enjoying them. I don't mean to throw water on this tour, but don't expect too much - it's just ok.

Went in March 2017, Had a great tour, did the middle priced "mixology" tour, and because it was the low season I was the only one on the tour. The tour guide, Evelina was very knowledgable and friendly and engaging. I believe she spoke English, but my Spanish was good enough so it wasn't necessary. Was very interesting learning the history of Pisco and of CAPEL, and the cocktail learning was fun. Highly recommended.

Drove from La Serena to the distillery only to find out that they were closed that day for maintenance, but the guard happily informed me that they would be open tomorrow. Even their "show room" was closed. Yup, not driving all the way back for this. Their website had no information stating they would be closed and a request for information via email prior to the visit had no results. Thankfully we had other stops along the way...

Chile is the Pisco capital of the world and if you want to see how it is made you can take a tour here. However, the process is very similar to wine making so this is nothing special. The idea here is to sell Pisco and there are several varieties to buy. The tour was fine and the people were nice and were did get to sample the Pisco.

This is the kind of place that caters to large bus loads of tourists looking for a pisco distillery tour. Staff were friendly but readily pointed us in the direction of the tacky kitch stalls. Cafe food is pricy. Recommend going to Ava distillery instead as this is what the locals drink.
