About
The Salad Trail would like to invite you to an unforgettable experience in greenhouses. You will observe the most up to date agricultural technologies- the “high tech” of agriculture. At every stop of the tour you will receive an explanation followed by you actually picking and eating your fruit right away! My 3 year old grandson really enjoyed himself being able to run around , pick all the goodies & maybe understand a bit where it all comes from .
Uri had amazing patience , making sure everyone was included & getting their picture taken .
So many different activities in a relatively short time
Will be back , all the family enjoyed it

A great way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny Friday morning . So many activities in a short time . We had an active 3 year old with us , he really enjoyed running around & being able to pick the fruit & veg . Uri s explanations were great & inclusion of the children also . Again his infinite patience with everyone who needed to get their pictures taken . Will definitely visit again.

Learned a lot, ate a lot
Dec 2019
My whole Birthright trip (of 27-32 year olds) stopped at the Salad Trail one of our last days in Israel. And it was a really memorable stop. It calls itself a "touch-and-taste" farm. And that's what you'll do when you're here. Our guide walked us around the farm, explaining how they grow everything they do in the Negev desert. We were welcome to eat anything we saw: oranges, blood oranges, kumquats, carrots, strawberries, cucumbers, herbs, cherry tomatoes, and more! Everything was delicious - right off the vine (or out of the ground or off the tree - you get the idea). What we learned was fascinating, and everything we tasted was great. overall, it was a great visit. (I left with some yummy citrus souvenirs!)

Awesome afternoon
Nov 2019
My husband and I spent a couple of hours enjoying and exploring the salad trail farm. We got to smell, pick and taste so many varieties of herbs and tomatoes. Uri, the owner, even had fun with our grandson as we video chatted with him and showed him the birds and the giant turtle. I highly recommend the Salad trail for a great family experience and anyone interested in Israeli agriculture.

Unbelievable
Oct 2019 • Family
The site is tucked away at the bottom of Israel. You need a car to get there but it is no more than a 2 hours drive from Twl Aviv or Jerusalem. Schedule a tour the in the latter part off the morning and bring picnic food. There's a place to eat and drink. You can buy drinks and snacks there.
The site shows you how the irrigation and agriculture works in the desert. You can eat the vegetables you learn about.Good for all ages.A day outside and lots of fun

A Terrific Afternoon!

Very educational, inspiring, and tasty, too! Our guide Hagai (who was personable, knowledgeable, and very helpful to our group of four seniors) showed and taught us all about the unique Negev farming methods that were innovated here. It was amazing to see how all of this produce (including five colors of carrots!) is growing in the desert sand, along with umpteen types of tomatoes and also the seven minim (types of vegetables) for which the land of Israel is famous. It was a wonderful experience for us veterans, who learned an awful lot today.....thank you; keep up the good work!

Great experience!!!

My Salad Trail visit was very educational, moving and tasty. I learned so much about agriculture. Who knew that you could fight plant bugs wit good bugs. I have never tasted such amazing cherry tomatoes of all types and the strawberries could not be improved upon. The owner and employees were very passionate about their farm and helped me understand what it must be like living so close to Gaza. I really enjoyed holding the homing pidgeons and watching them circle back to their homes. Thank you for making my Israel visit so special

A Great Surprise
Nov 2018 • Couples
We visited this site while on a Tour Israel trip. Was very nicely surprised at how much we enjoyed the tour. Very interesting to hear about their history and how they have adapted to growing such amazing food. Getting to taste the food was also a treat. If you are a foodie we would recommend visiting.
