Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh is the only place in North India for Tea Gardens. In Dharamsala, one can see small area near Kunal Pathri Temple is covered with Tea plantation. Once you are going to Palampur from Dharamsala, larger area is having tea plantations. The tea from this area is known as 'Kangra Tea'. Now a days not much people are aware of the tea from this place. Many road side sellers are there near to tea gardens. One can buy from them.

The green fields spread over acres of land, the tea gardens are a scenic natural site. While there isn’t much to do here, you can easily spend a couple of hours here just soaking in the peaceful environment. You can also pick up some fresh mountain tea from here.

The tea gardens appear on either side of the road well before you enter Palampur, giving you a sense of entering into a dreamland. Since Palampur is called the Tea Capital of northern India, it is famous for its lush tea gardens sprawling over vast acres of land. These splendid gardens are among the chief attractions of the hill-town.

If you have seen tea estates in Munnar or Assam, this is huge disappointment but if you haven't then yes please go. For me, it was just interesting to know that Himachal Pradesh is also a tea producer. Period.

There are many tea gardens on dharamshala-palampur road. Just stop your vehicle and visit any to get the feeling of a tea garden. Better option is to visit a place called tea factory in Palamapur (could not visit due to paucity of time) and get knowledge of whole tea making process. Palamapur is tea capital of North India, enjoy being in the tea gardens.

From Kangra Airport all the way upto Palampur, the entire stretch is interspersed with Lychee Trees and Tea Gardens. This is the home of famous Kangra Green Tea. Area around Gopalpur Zoo is of special interest with large Tea Gardens. From the roadside one can spot the Himalayan Black Bears.

This tea Garden is in Dharamshala, if not then pls help me with the exact location and is April End good time to visit this place?
Written January 9, 2017
There are tea gardens in Dharamsala and Palampur and several places in between. April is a great time to visit actually, as its first flush season and you'll see the new, fresh green leaves emerging on the tea bushes. Its also usually the time when the best tea is made. If you're coming to Dharmsala, then you can visit the tea factory and get a tour as well at the Mann Tea Estate, near BSNL office and Circuit House.
