You will be very surprised to know that the largest desert in Europe is in Sardinia as well as the highest sand dunes. Fantastic place! I do not particularly suggest it for swimming as the currents can be tricky but those dunes... whoa!!! And don't miss the old industrila plant of Ingortusu and Monte Vecchio!

Le Dune was incredible. The water was nice, the sand stretched on forever, the sun was bright. There a couple of beach bars - one called l'Oasi that was pounding some kind of relentless techno music, so we went to the other (on the left when you descend from the parking lot). Super nice staff, had a couple of beers... More

Huge expanse of beach backed by sand-dunes. Once past the the sunloungers of Hotel Le Dune, you feel like you have the beach to yourself. So peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Clear waters and some waves. The journey to get to Piscinas is quite a trek. The asphalt road is twisty and mountainous, when it runs out the dirt track goes... More

It is a little more difficult to reach this beach, definitely you need a car. On the other hand you can then enjoy really great area with sand, dunes, blue clear water and sun everywhere. Although the beach is further from any village, there are two bars, where you can by some beverage and meals, have a shower with fresh... More

Spent a beautiful day here! Visited the old mining settlement along the road into the valley. In the evening we stayed in Arbus at La Coccinella which is a nice bed and breakfast in the local village.

The non-asphalted long road makes it quiet difficult to reach there but it is definitively worth the trip... The beach is the best place to have a peaceful day by the sea. There is only one spot suggesting a shadowed sun-beds, so you'd better have an umbrella to protect from sun. Loved the beach with dune sceneries...

This trip was so much fun, our children still talk about it. We were taken along the route in a Land Rover Defender, which added to the bumpy romantic experience!

With a big car park, two small cafes serving beer and snacks. Endless sand for miles surrounded by dunes and hills. Drive to the beach is historic, passing through old mining towns. The road down is bumpy but camper vans make it, and so did our convertible VW.

We arrived there after a whole day of driving. The place itself is simply impressive, the huge sandy beach made from the sand from a desert. While driving through tight valley full of remainings of the mining from another era makes you impatient. When you Access the parking space you can already hear the roaring of the vawes. after a...
