A fens drainage pumping station that has open days and is also open sometimes during the summer months - check before you visit. It is staffed by volunteers - maybe actually just 1 volunteer! It is a piece of Fenland history that reveals how and...More

Despite our satnav taking us to a road in the middle of fields we found this fascinating pumping station. A delightful guide showed us around and was full with information. There was also a comprehensive collection of equipment and machinery. Well worth a visit.

The Pumping Station is part of the reclamation process which has become the Fens. The high Council Tax we pay is in great part due to the flood defenses and a visit to this museum shows what is and has been involved.
