Yes, I did read the reviews before we booked here and was fully expecting to be greeted by an over euthusatic car geek and comic book nerd. No, this didn't put us off. The man in question is totally eccentric and he would be the first person to admit this. His jokes went over the kids heads but he kept the party flowing. I think only adults would fine the chap weird or annoying and the children in our group only commented positively on him. Our experience of this place, only deserves a 5 star review. The tracks are excellent and maintained to a really high standard. The man explained the functions of the controller and also where they needed to brake on each track. The cafe was great value and the food was decent. Most importantly all the children in our party had a brilliant time and are now desperate to get a super large Scalextric for Xmas!

We took my 12 year old stepson and his brother here for his birthday, just for something different to do. When we arrived it felt slightly poorly organised, we stood at what looked like the reception area and whilst there was staff around they didnt acknowledge us (they were busy, but there was no quick 'I'll be with you in a minute') and this being our first time we weren't sure what to do and found we were standing around like lemons. Once we were served, the member of staff didnt know how to use the till to take our payment so general first impressions were that it was a bit chaotic and not particularly well run. Once we signed in, and were allowed in the racing track area, things picked up! When actually doind the racing things were very well run, were (I think) 7 different tracks all laid out like different international racing tracks. The staff were really helpful, before raving you are given a briefing on how to race, tips on how to stay on track and what the adults present need to do (there was a lot of running around picking up cars and putting them back on the track as quickly as possible while the kids yelled at us to hurry up). Each track is hooked to a computer which times the race, counts laps and records fastest laps, so you can compare stats at the end of it. The boys really enjoyed it, and got very competitive. We were there for about an hour and it was really great to do something a bit different. There was a birthday party there of boys about 6 or 7 I'd guess, thet do have a cafe on site that serves food and I would imagine it would be a good venue for a boys party, something a bit different!

Visited with my son and husband paying £10 each to race on each of the eight tracks. We had not booked and arrived when they opened at 11am on a Sunday morning and luckily we were able to get straight on to the tracks after the initial chat with the manager. The place is spotless, well maintained and obviously the manager's pride and joy. JUST BE CAREFUL OF THE BUMPS IN THE FLOOR. We were there, racing for 2 hours and I never looked at my watch once, so I must have really enjoyed it. I think it is fantastic value for money. The Donnington race track is huge and you could never hope to create a race circuit like this in your own home. Also there is a great little cafe there where we had a drink. Again, spotless and lots of homemade dishes on the menu. DO NOT TRY OR ASK TO TAKE YOUR OWN FOOD AND DRINK. I should imagine this is where they actually make the profit as I cannot see there is much margin for them in the actual racing. I SUGGEST YOU RING BEFORE YOU GO, AS I THINK THEY MUST GET BUSY.

I went with my two children (11 & 10), and we had a great time. There are 8 different courses and we raced all of them. You get a good amount of time on each track. Well run. I discovered another thing that my kids are better than me at.
