We left our car in free parking. We arrived at the river tours site within about a 5-minute walk. We paid $100 per person . The boats were electric. The river is beautiful and clean so it feels like a special effect on a movie stage . Our captain gave us information about this place. Very good experience.

Akyaka is a must-see place. Be sure to join the half-hour minibus boat tour on the stream. This trip, where you will watch the aquarium-like vegetation and fish, will warm your heart. The stream is very cold. Be sure to put your feet in. There are restaurants by the stream. Prices are a little high. If they sold cheaper, they would have more customers. It's very crowded in season, we went at the end of October. We liked it very much. Especially close to the beach is Akhisar meatball restaurant Ilbey. You won't believe its taste. The prices are very affordable. I recommend the meatballs with yoghurt and butter pita. Daily boat tour, moonlight trip, places to drink beer are all nice. In short, it is a must-see place. Take photos on the lovers' path with okoloptus trees. I uploaded photos, you can take a look.

It is definitely a must-see place if you happen to be in Muğla. You should definitely join the half-hour boat tours, the water is very beautiful. In our opinion, the prices of the establishments are reasonable, compared to many holiday regions where there is nothing, you can relax your mind and enjoy without burning your pocket in this visual feast area.

The water was 30% soda and 15-16 degrees. Anyone in the heat of August can cool off—boat tours arrive immediately for $100, but if you go to the most recent tours, you can take the river by electric boat for $80. It was an amazing experience. Must go for a short walk or boat tour.

The river where we took a boat tour during our Akyaka trip. We enjoyed this natural wonder with the introduction of Şadi Kaptan. Most electric tour boats operate. The water is clear and clean. Ducks, geese and various waterfowl, as well as mullet, sea bass and eels are abundant. It is definitely a geography that should be visited.

At first glance Azmak river reminded me of the rivers that can only be seen in National Geographic documentaries of pristine natures, it’s such a feast for the eyes!

Just imagine a shimmering fast flowing river with a bunch of ducks and geese gliding, floating, and paddling on it! The crystal clear water lets you see pebbles and vegetation on its floor!

The source of the river is the springs originating from the mountains and in the end, it joins the Gulf of Gokova, who wouldn’t want to dip their feet or dive into that clean and cool water on a sizzling summer day?

Boat trip

As you walk along the river you will see visitors swimming in it, chilling on their picnic chairs, or sunbathing! It took us around half an hour to get to the boat station near the harbor from which we took a boat trip. On the boat trip, we saw some special species of birds and there was a deep part called the aquarium where the boat stopped and let us look for fish. I saw two big fish but couldn’t see any colorful ones. The fee for the boat trip was 30 TL per person and it’s better to sit near the edge of the boat if you want to have a better view otherwise your view will be partially blocked by the roof and other people on the boat.

Cafes, Restaurants, and Local markets

There were plenty of restaurants, cafes, and hotels located on the bank of the river. Some of the restaurants were on the pier and you could have your meal or drink while dipping your feet into the water. We went to Azmak restaurant and ordered “Kofte” and “ Sac Kavurma". The food was mediocre and the price same as other restaurants in the area. It was very clean, but the staff didn't look very friendly to me. We had our lunch with the breathtaking view of the river, and sometimes ducks got closer to us. The view was just stunning!

Near the harbor, there are many juice bars, cafes, restaurants, and booths selling handicrafts. We tried cactus fruit known as prickly pears for the first time and it was tasty.

On the beach of the Gulf, you can see people swimming and sunbathing. Akyaka harbor featuring an array of palm trees is a beautiful place for a short walk and taking photos.

If you are a history lover don’t miss out on visiting İnişdibi rock tombs which are located around a 10-minute drive away from the river. The rock tombs are secured, and you can see them and take photos from the outside of those boundaries. There are ongoing excavations in the area and seems that in the near future the remnants of the ancient city will be brought to the surface.

I highly recommend all Marmaris visitors to see Azmak river in Akyaka, it's too good to miss it!

When you come to Akyaka, you should visit with a tour. The price was 50 TL per person. But there was a place on the road towards the beach that costs 30 TL. We jumped at the first one we saw 😇

It is a naturally beautiful area. Relaxing. However, their operating quality is very low and very expensive. Boats, cafes and restaurants. He is very amateur in business. It could be much better. nature is like heaven. This is the only place with a good beach. Other beach areas are pebble. There is no sand beach. deep sea. And where the natural waters coming from the mountains mix with the sea, you feel the cold and warm water while swimming.
This river is not bad just for walking along it. Although it could have been more planned and beautiful

Took a 30 minute boat tour along the river, busy queue to start, this is a very popular thing to do in Akyaka. The tour was leisurely, water was crystal clear, we can see the bottom of the fast flowing stream, very vibrant foliage can be seen underwatee. We saw few species of birds and the resident ducks and geese.
Locals and tourists a like were taking a cooling dip by the river banks.

On the 10th of September, on the way to Marmaris, we stayed in Akyaka. The place we visited was the Azmak Stream. Since we went here in the summer and toured here, this time we did not know how to get on the boat. We walked around it. It is really beautiful. When you come here, you should definitely do this tour. The river is not very long, but it has ice-cold water and the bottom is very beautiful. It is full of lush green grass, there are cafes and restaurants next to it, very nice people even swim in the water here.

It's just some kind of miracle. A river of indescribable beauty, with the purest cold water. You sail on a boat and admire not only the picturesque shores, but also the underwater world. Some weird algae and fish - it’s so cool, so interesting. I want to swim, swim and swim. And relax in all this beauty. And then, if you are not afraid of cold water, take a swim in the river. In the heat it is extremely invigorating.

Visited Akyaka for the day whilst staying in Marmaris. One bus to Marmaris bus station then another that stopped on the motorway for Akyaka. It was a 5min walk to the footpath. Views were stunning to look down at this village. Took about 15mins to walk down to the start of the village. Quite steep and all downhill to the sandy beach, it was quite when I visited, got the river boat around the village. Got a lovely fresh bread spiced chicken salad roll and soft drink from Pinarlar restaurant. All in this outing cost me £9. A great day out and great value for money.

This river named as Azmak is located in Muğla city, Ula district, Akyaka village. The source of Azmak comes from Sakar Mountain and goes through the sea (Gökova). It is actually drinkable natural mineral water and it is under protection. Azmak is a natural aquarium where lots of different kinds of fish and ducks live. The water is very cold even in summer. (8•C) The depth differs from 8 mt to 20 mt while you feel you can touch the bottom. It is natural phenomenon.

This was part of a trip we took and it felt very different from what we'd been doing. A little boat trip amongst nature in crystal clear water. With the mountains providing the backdrop. After the boat trip I went back down and put my feet in. Very refreshing and just a little different from being by the beach which is only a 5 minute walk away

Good escape especially at hit weekends. You can walk along the river or swim if you like xold fresh water. There are some restaurants and cafes around but pricy. Try 20mins.river tour. Night time also attractive.
