Not having a car with us, we chose this reserve over the others as it offered collection from our hotel. Unfortunately this didn't work out, as the shuttle arrived early and drove off without pause; we were inside reception not 20 feet from the door...More

We joined a small party with a guide to explore the forest at night. We saw agoutis and zivotes, a tarantula (tempted out of its hole by a stick!), fireflies, and one or two small insects. Obviously the guide cannot predict what we may or...More

Like walking into a dream forest. A tropical wonderland. Very beautiful and different from the forest in Monteverde. This is on the Caribbean slope and the other the Pacific slope so they are very different from each other in flora and fauna.
