Took the Night Tour with Junior and was amazed through and through. From picking us up all the way to dropping us off this was an exceptional experience. You will start by choosing your dinner options for after the Tree Climb/Night Hike, then you will go over all the safety necessities for such an endeavor. Junior was thorough with his safety explanations which made us feel very comfortable. As we ascended the tree he took some photos from above that came out very well. When we reached the platform it was just in time for a beautiful sunset where Junior began to put on display his vast knowledge of the area. His knowledge continued throughout the entire evening and he made sure to answer every question we could think of, even backing up his knowledge with some technological with an app that showed migratory maps and sounds of the birds we saw.

The dinner was very delicious and it felt like we were dining with his family because in fact we were. This made an intimate touch to a wonderful experience as we go to know him and his family a little bit.

I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Monteverde area of Costa Rica and if you aren't planning on visiting the area, this may be the experience that could change those plans.

This is a very well run family operation. We were picked up at our hotel in Santa elena and driven 10 mins out of town to a beautiful farm estate. After some quick instructions we were off for the tree climb.

The pandemic has hit the tourism industry hard like everywhere else. The two us were the only ones but that didn't diminish the enthusiasm of our guides the slightest bit.

The tree climb is exhilarating and you neehisd to be in reasonable shape to get to the top. We were absolutely thrilled to get to the topmost platform where we saw the last vestiges of a beautiful orange purple sunset over the forest. The wind was hard so we climbed up from the inside and back down from the inside as well though I believe on calmer says you can rappel from the outside. We were properly harnessed with safety cords and felt safe at all times despite the crazy height we had just ascended (132 ft)

After the climb we were off for the night walk which was outstanding. Junior, our guide, is the son of the proprietor but this is not some random casual walk. He was carrying a professional scope, lots of wildlife books for reference and was extremely knowledgeable. For two hours non stop he was explaining in great detail about the forest, the trees and plants and the insect and animal life. We saw a lot of critters but every night is bound to be different. What stood out was his enthusiasm and affection for his natural surroundings.

After all this we were driven to a restaurant for hot pizza and drinks. Can't recommend this experience enough, particularly if you get to go out with junior.

We were looking into Night tours when we reached Monteverde. I had not booked anything in advance since it was raining almost every evening in June. There are so many companies providing Night tours in Monteverde. This place did not show up in any of the searches that we did. Out guide in hanging bridges told us about this place which has an old hollowed out ficus tree and that you can climb from inside all the way to the top (150 ft) to a platform. You come down the same way from inside as well. This is combined with a Night tour and dinner. The tree climbing caught our fancy and we booked at 4 pm for a 5 pm tour. The tree climbing was different from any other activity we have ever done. It was both thrilling and a little scary. We really needed to use all our strength to climb up. My 10 and 14 year olds could do it better than me. There are a couple of places where the tree gets narrow enough where I was scared that I might get stuck. Its is not advisable if you are claustrophobic. But you do not notice the height you are climbing to since you are inside and too focused on keeping on your balance and figuring out where to pull and climb next. The view from the platform up is beautiful. It was cloudy and drizzling when we went up, but in dry season you can sometimes catch the sunset. On the platform you are again tethered to a rope so you feel safe and there is no chance of falling down. The night tour was great as well. For dinner we went to their restaurant back in town which was great since the tour ended after 8 and it would have been difficult to find food on our own as some restaurants start to close by 9pm. My only advise to them was to advertise more. They have something others don’t and should be able to get a lot more traffic than they do.

I don’t often leave bad reviews, but this tour and their service got me so mad

The tour includes 6 waterfalls, where 5 of them were very small (around 2-8 meters), and that was great for practice but a bit boring. After passing those we reached the 40m waterfall which looked like great fun, but I wasn’t allowed to do it. The reason was that I was too short (155cm), but a girl the exact same height as me just did it. The guide pretended that I had different options of going down the waterfall, but when I chose the hard one (the normal rappelling one) he sad, quoting: “if you are stucked, I’m not gonna rescue you”

So he did not really gave me any options at all. I ended up doing the easy way, because he made me feel so uncomfortable. And I was not uncomfortable rappelling at all before that. I actually felt pretty good at it and confident at all the other waterfalls. I was not nervous at all!

Of course, if there were true safety reasons for me not doing it, it is fair, but it should have been told before you pay for the trip that there is a risk that you will not be able to do the highlight of the trip. The other waterfalls were so small and not really challenging, so it was a waste of money. But the worst part was definitely the rude guide’s reasoning and handling of the situation, just assuming that I was not able to do the waterfall when everyone else did it. They are supposed to assure you and help you.

After the trip I complained to the other guide, and they offered me to do the big waterfall later that day if I wanted to, so obviously I would have been able to do it with some extra help. But of course I did not feel safe or in any good mood after that experience at all.

This was one of the highlights of our time in Monteverde. We didn't expect there to be a climb up the tree to experience sunset atop the city (which was a very exciting experience) and tenth night tour just was amazing. The guide was able to answer our most scientific questions, while still giving fun facts throughout the tour.
Highly recommend.

Our favorite adventure tour we did in Costa Rica. Most likely due to COVID/travel still picking back up it was just the 2 of us and the 2 guides. 6 waterfalls in all (one small practice one) and one as high as 130ft. The guides were very friendly and clearly having a good time doing what they do with lots of experience. Felt very safe! We bought the tour directly through them and got a discount and an option for free pictures, t shirt, or lunch. The guide encouraged buying directly through them for best deals/promotions. You hike up and down the streams to each waterfall with a 10-15 min hike back at the end for some gorgeous views at the top.

I did rappelling down the waterfalls and night tour / climbing inside the ficus tree with this company. I ended up being the only person on both tours and it was absolutely magical!
The rappelling was such an adrenaline rush! I loved it! It was my favorite thing among all the activities I did in Costa Rica!
The tree climb was very unique and a must as well! The view from the top of the tree was spectacular! The night walk was very educational and I would highly recommend it for families with kids. I did it because I wanted to learn about the night creatures and I definitely learnt a lot. The glowing scorpions were the highlight!
The guides also took every precaution re Covid, so I felt extremely safe during the entire time (there was social distancing in the van, guides wore masks the entire time and lots of hand washing). Highly recommend this company!

My favorite part of the experience was going down a super long waterfall!! I also enjoyed hearing about how this was a family business, started on the family’s property. The father and son who ran the adventure directed us through the adventure and took fantastic photos. The photos were so good that the other people in the group who took their own photos wound up buying the photographs!

Be prepared for thrills! Our canyoning tour featured six waterfalls including the big 40-meter drop. It is an exhausting yet breathtaking experience and our guides assured us of our safety every step of the way (sometimes literally). We came in with next to no experience and while we probably aren’t earning any style points anytime soon for, we had such a blast.

Book directly with the company through their website and you can receive free pictures the guides take on the tour (or a shirt or a meal voucher for a restaurant in town).

We did the treetop climbing tour and it was such a great experience! The guides were funny, explained thoroughly how to use the equipment and made sure we were safe and confident throughout the climb.

The climbing inside of the tree was such a unique and cool experience and the view from the top (and rapelling down) was amazing.

If you want to do a cool activity that won't take up your whole day and is not too expensive - this one is definitely the perfect one!
