Danilo was clever, knowledgeable about the animals, and excited to share his appreciation of the animals. I would recommend him and this tour to others!

At Santamaria night tour we saw many nocturnal animals including sloths, tarantula's, pit vipers, raccoons, bats and a kinkajou. The guide Dennis was very inspired and didn't waste too much time on talking! You just want to see things right?! They did forget to pick us up at the hotel so if they are late, better call them so they... More

We were a group of 12 people and got one guide. The tour guide walked in front and explained all about the forest and its wildlife. The 12 people waked behind him, one after the other, since the trails were very narrow. Except of the first four people, no one could hear what the guide said. Apart from our group,... More

This is a perfect choice. We saw so many things, including a mother sloth and her baby...! Our guide was amazing and the whole experience was something I would highly recommend.

My husband and I had an awesome tour. We booked our's directly with Esteban (Esteban Daily Guided Tours on TripAdvisor) and got to see some amazing stuff. There were multiple tours with different guides going on simltaneously, which seems like the norm for the reserves in Monteverde-- so if you go, expect to run into other groups. However, this ends... Hector was our guide, and he made the walk GREAT. We saw lots of animals, including a sloth, birds, and a frog. If you can call ahead and get Hector as your guide, I highly recommend that you take this tour. Hector was friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, experienced, and very helpful with getting good photos!

We went to the night tour and were very disappointed. So many groups walking in the trails to see a random animal. We saw 2 snakes, one sloth and one tarantula, probably the same animals they show all groups every night. After visiting Tortuguero, Cahuita and Arenal it was funny chasing do few animals. The most prevalent animal was Homo... More

Shame about the guide....he really lacked enthusiasm! He made little effort to communicate and had no patience with the group... waste of money ..all the other groups had leaders that told them loads about the animals...ours didn't care....he just wanted his paycheck and an expensive breakfast in the coffee shop the next morning at our expense! Want a refund!!!!
