The serpentarium is smaller but has snakes and frogs. We had a guided tour which allowed us to find the creature in each cage. We then came back at night (ticket is good for one night tour) with flashlights and that was fun. We used this activity to fill in an unscheduled afternoon, which was a good idea. Plus, it's... Small and a bit pricey for what you see but the reptiles and frogs are more likely to be seen here than hiking through the rainforest. A ticket will get you two entries in one day. Also the staff is very helpful in locating tiny frogs in their enclosures. There are also several guided tours per day. My suggestion...don't go... More

My husband loves reptiles and we have a pet snake, so we knew were had to stop in. Overall the place is not huge, but since many of the reptiles are nocturnal they give you the option to come back in the evenings to really get a chance to see them.

An educating experience about snakes, good opportunity to get to know more about them, and see the amazing diversity of Costa Rican life. The guide Denis was really enthusiastic and informative, and gave us a good time!

This was one if the worst things we did all holiday. We wanted to get up close with the snakes and reptiles and learn more about them. The facility was poor and not that clean. Kind of felt bad for the animals. The guide was poor and clearly wanted to be at home. He wasn't great at answering questions and... More

The serpentario was a highlight to our trip. We saw more reptiles and amphibian here, than we did being out in the wild. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Worth the trip here to see the cool snakes.

We stopped by in the afternoon, before the serpents were really active, because the serpentarium was closed for charity event that evening. We saw all except one of the animals, but they were asleep for the most part. The ticket would have allowed us to return later if the exhibit would have been open. Overall, an informative museum.

A very small place with a few snakes, frogs and turtles - very small enclosures which doesn't feel particularly caring for the animals kept here (especially some enclosures that contained many snakes in a very small area). Staff were very friendly and welcoming, but it is extremely costly to go in for what is half an hour's entertainment (if you... More

You can easily tour through this place in less than an hour. The price ($14/pp) is a bit steep for the size of the facility. What makes this place special though is the friendly and knowledgeable personnel that work there. If snakes/frogs (and they do have some turtles) are your passion, I would take advantage of this place. The people... More

If you have time then put it on the list, it's pretty small and a little over priced in my opinion, but it still has some great animals and would be good for kids and snake enthusiasts.
