The tour is certainly worth a visit, giving insight into sugar, coffee and chocolate production. You will never drink another cup of Starbucks coffee again. The tour time could have been shortened, but otherwise entertaining and educational.

A family operated farm showing how coffee, sugarcane, and other foods are planted, grown and harvested. My family has visited twice. The first time was shortly after the family began giving tours 2008 and again in 2016. They have expanded the tour but have kept the personal, hands on experience. You get to sample everything made at the farm. Also... More

The tour we initially scheduled was rained out so the INCREDIBLE owner of our bed & breakfast (Esteban) recommended this one, & it turned out to be an exceptional tour!! We learned a LOT about the fascinating process of making coffee and cocoa! The scenery was breathtaking, the chocolate & raw sugar candy that we got to make was delectable... More

Good 3 hour-long tour with lots of interesting facts about coffee, cocoa and sugar production. We were able to make our own muscovado style sugar to take away with us and taste cocoa in its various stages. Well worth going on.

Upon the recommendation of our hotel we decided to take the tour after checking in. They picked us up at our hotel and were very friendly and courteous. The tour showed what this family owned farm produced: coffee, sugar and cocao. They showed every step of the process. It even included sampling coffee beans, cocao beans, and sugar cane straight... Had a nice morning learning all about coffee growing and production as well as sugar and chocolate. We really enjoyed the tasting demonstrations and the ox cart ride.

Very nice for a family of young children. The machines, farm, and information on processes was very informative. The bullock cart ride was great fund for the kids. I felt that the water powered sugar cane mill was over the top for what it did, but was nice to see.

This wads wonderful tour, our guide was both knowledgeable and funny. This is s very interesting tour of a local family-owned boutique coffee plantation. They cover every detail on the plantation's operations, and also show you how they process sugar cane & chocolate. Of course, we had to buy some of their honey-roasted coffee and a few coffee mugs. We... More

Our guide was Sergio and we had a very small group (6 people). He was excellent. He knows all there is to know about the farm and there is some very interactive parts of this tour. There is also some great photo ops and he offers to take pictures. It was very great. I learned a lot about coffee, sugar... More

This was one of the best tours I have experienced anywhere. The tour included transportation from our hotel in Santa Elena and back again. Our tour guide was a member of the family that owns El Trapiche, a small farm that produces sugar, cocoa, and coffee. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the production processes and spoke excellent... More
