The trapiche tour was fascinating. I grew up in farm country, but we grow corn, soy beans, and tomatoes. It was interesting to hear about how these other plants are grown and processed. We had a FANTASTIC guide with excellent English.

This tour was extraordinary and our guide , # thefamousOscar (he was a trickster!) made the experience memorable! There were three tour parts: coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Oscar led us through the the fields where the coffee beans are harvested then into a building, explaining the entire bean process. We were able to sample the coffee beans at each stage... More

As a coffee fanatic who roasts his own beans, I had been really looking forward to this tour as the "crown jewel" of our 10 day trip to Costa Rica, and I wasn't disappointed. We specifically had El Trapiche recommended to us as they cover coffee, cocoa and sugar cane-quite the trifecta. The cocoa to chocolate process was fascinating as... More

The tour guides are very informative. It's a little bit of everything and includes interactive portions to keep the kids interested.

An amazing and scenic tour of a coffee plantation. Knowledgeable tour guides will hike through the plantation, showing you all plants, while explaining coffee, sugar and chocolate. Have a little moonshine, make sugar and sample tasty coffees.

Excellent tour. Small group meant everyone could hear and see what was going on. We got to taste chocolate, coffee, rum and sugar at every stage of production and learn about the processes. Just enough information without getting into boring detail. Light snack and lemonade and coffee included. Super tour, only 25$ too.

There are a few coffee tours in Monteverde, our Airbnb host suggested this one as the family who owns it still runs it. It was great I learned a lot about the coffee process, the types the work that goes into cultivation. We got to see how they mill sugar and cocoa...it was a great tour.

Had a great time on this tour ! $32 per adult We were picked up at the hotel by Jairo, he was also our tour guide. Luckily we were with a small group so he took a lot of time to answer questions. You really get to explore the plantation. We got to taste sugar cane, make and eat raw... More

The El Trapiche Tour was well beyond what I had anticipated and Erick, our guide, was one of the nicest people you could meet. Not only is this tour about the coffee industry, but also about the sugar and chocolate making industries as well. Yes, you get to ride in an ox cart! This tour is very interactive as you... More
