About El Bosque Tours
El Bosque Preserve is a 23-acre forest set aside for conservation with gardens, trails and daily tours for small groups, which is great if you are looking for a less touristy, and more authentic ecotourism experience. El Bosque is part of the Biological Corridor Pajaro Campana, which is extremely important for the survival of many highly endangered species such as the Resplendent Quetzal, the Three-Wattled Bellbird and many other creatures that come here for food supply when the wild avocados are no longer found in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. When you take part in a small group tour with El Bosque, you are not only getting a more personal, less touristy experience, but more importantly, you are actively participating in the conservation of this critically important corridor.

And after you finish the tour, you can ask for a map to come back the next morning to keep exploring our trails on your own for free.

Spot Many Birds in Monteverde Without Walking Too Much!
If you love birdwatching but you cannot walk too much El Bosque is the right place is for you. The grounds are very flat, and in just a couple of steps you will cover different landscapes with great view points, and with the proper equipment and the keen eye of a local expert it is easy to spot as many as 30 bird species, from small Hummingbirds to beautiful Blue-crowned Motmots and Keel-billed Toucans, without walking long distances or going too much up and down. The tour is 3 hours but it's a very light walk, stopping to spot many birds as the opportunity arises.

Less Touristy, More Authentic - Small Groups Only
El Bosque is focused on less touristy, more authentic tours. This is why, the Birdwatching Tour is exclusive to very small groups of 4 people and it ends with a typical Costa Rican breakfast (to share anecdotes and pictures with your tour guide) and a map so you can keep exploring our trails on your own.

Great night walk through the forest. Small group, personal tour. Spotted many birds, tarantula and mammals without disrupting them. 10/10 would go again!
