Monteverde Costa Rica is one of the best areas where you will have the chance to learn about the cultivation and the processes, of how an authentic coffee that was used as far back as our grandparent’s generation is made. The tour was developed in an environment that stands out as one of the best in our culture and tradition; a tradition that has made this country one of progress and peace. The tour lasts for about 2 hours and it includes typical snacks and the option of an authentic home-made lunch.

Why not if you are in the area. Learn about the coffee making process. Trust me you will learn something. Is it a must see? No. Should you go if you have a couple of hours? Yes as it is an important part of costa rica

They've done a great job with their branding and marketing in the area. So, jaded as I am by North American norms I expected a sanitized, unauthentic experience. I was very happy to find that I was wrong! Our tour guide was intimately knowledgeable about every aspect of the workers' experience on a working coffee plantation. In addition to coffee... More

I was afraid this tour would be commercial or touristy but it was not, it's a real farm which produces the products you can taste and purchase there. It's a small farm where you can see how coffee and cacao farms in Central America work, and some history. The guide we had was great. I don't typically like tours but... More

This tour was very informative on the process of coffee, chocolate and sugar cane, from the beginning as a plant, to the final stage of product ready for consumption. The tour guide shows you beans from coffee and cocoa plant and all the various stages that have to happen before the item is ready for sale or consumption.

This was a very informative tour. We enjoyed it. It walks you through all the stages of coffee production. We also learned about chocolate. At the end of the tour, you can get samples and buy some local coffee to take home. I recommend the Honey coffee as it is difficult to get anywhere else.

We learned so much about coffee, chocolate and sugar cane from our guide. I am appreciating every cup of coffee all the more now and will insist on only Arabica beans.

We'd anticipated something fairly cheesy, but the three-in-one tour was actually really good. Perhaps it was because we did the 8:00 am tour, but no other visitors seemed to be there at all. Our guide, Cristel, was excellent, and we felt like we learned a lot from the hands-on nature of the tour - we could touch, smell and taste... More
