Monteverde Costa Rica is one of the best areas where you will have the chance to learn about the cultivation and the processes, of how an authentic coffee that was used as far back as our grandparent’s generation is made. The tour was developed in an environment that stands out as one of the best in our culture and tradition; a tradition that has made this country one of progress and peace. The tour lasts for about 2 hours and it includes typical snacks and the option of an authentic home-made lunch.

We made a stop for the Don Juan coffee tour in late Feb, 2017. It was fun to see the entire process from planting to processing of the coffee bean. We also had the opportunity to see chocolate and sugar cane processing as well. Fun experience, the tour guide knew what he was talking about, because he did the various... More

I did this tour as part of the Monteverde Sky Walk package. Some went zip lining and some did this tour and I must say I am glad I did. I found it interesting, informative and above all enjoyable. Our guide was a comedian 🤡 and made the tour that extra special. Not a short tour by any means as... More

The night tour was perfect. Our guides were very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about coffee, cocoa, and sugar cane. It was difficult to find a sloth, but they knew how badly we wanted to see one, so they spent extra time looking until they found one for us. Definitely would recommend!

After breakfast at the Cloud Forest Lodge in Santa Elena, we booked this 2-hour coffee tour which included the "chocolate factory", and the "sugar cane" mill. We were greeted by Don Juan himself before our tour. Rides in colorfully painted ox-carts were offered to anyone in our group of twenty. Our guide, Daiana made our visit to this family run... More

Our visit to the Don Juan Coffee Tour was a highlight on the trip. Junior was our tour guide, he came to our hotel so we could start the tour. He was very knowledgeable about coffee, chocolate and sugar cane. The location was beautiful, the tour covered everything you would want to know about coffee. Junior was the best! He... More

Enjoyed this tour which starts with cocoa beans, moves to sugarcane and then to coffee. I was impressed in particular with the discussion of coffee growing and type of coffee grown in Costa Rica. I understand now why coffee costs what it costs! Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and professional, making this tour all-ages appropriate and easily relating to everyone... More
