- željkaPremantura, Croatia10 contributionsExcellent day in natureIf you want more than just lying on the beach, then I definitely recommend a day in nature, exploring the beautiful waterfalls. We did 3h hike. Without a guide it would be quite difficult to get around in the woods as there are no signposts. We went with Prakash from Green Discovery (we contacted him via fb site) and it was great for us👍 In those days it was raining so the track was slippery and therefore more challenging. I am not an experienced hiker and I was proud of myself when I finished the course and it was definitely worth it. Since we were pretty dirty from the mud, Prakash even let us take a shower in his nearby house and thank him very much for that 🙌❤️ We changed into clean clothes and headed to Bois Cheri Tea Factory. A very well used day🥰Visited January 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten February 6, 2020
- FrancescoZurich, Switzerland3 contributionsAmazing day with jay7cascades.comJay guided us on a 5 hours tour from the lower to the upper waterfall while sharing a lot of history about Mauritius and hidden details of the tamarind waterfalls. He took a lot of pictures of us and showed us where it’s safe to swim and do cliff diving. He speaks perfect English and compared to other guides he only takes few people at a time (we were only 2). He served us delicious home-made samosas as a snack, dholl puri for lunch and fresh pineapple and bananas for dessert. Jay really made our day and was an amazing guide. We highly recommend to book a tour directly with him (jay7cascades.com or WhatsApp (+230) 5 764 1372). Mainly because of the excellent experience but also because the fare is much more fair compared to what you would find Googling “guide tamarind falls”.Visited October 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten October 27, 2021
- Jessica S1 contributionPerfect Experience! We had an amazing hike along the 7 waterfalls with Raj. He is a very experienced guide, who told us many things about the plants and the places along the way. We could take a swim in the waterfalls, had a nice lunchbreak with delicious sandwiches and fresh fruits that Raj brought for us. He also took really cool pictures. After the hike he invited us into his home, where his wife prepared local food for us to try and we tried some of the homemade Rum. All in all, it was a perfect day, we would highly recommend Raj as a guide for the 7 waterfalls as he is one of the only ones who takes you to the actual 7 big waterfalls and only guides small groups. To get the best price, you should contact him directly via Whatsapp: +23059155178Visited October 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten October 31, 2022
- Shaun HBeckenham, United Kingdom27 contributionsAmazing hike with Raj AdventureWonderful half day trek to four waterfalls with Raj. Shoba his wife arranged everything perfectly, WhatsApp her on +230 5915 5178. Raj was really experienced and fantastic with our six year old . We also had a 2 year old and 9 month old in slings and even though the trail was quite difficult in parts, Raj really helped guide us and ensured we were all safe. We stopped for breaks at each waterfall and had a swim in one. Afterwards we were welcomed back to Raj’s place for delicious home-made snacks and drinks with his wife Shoba. They were both very hospitable and it was great to see there home and chat with them after the hike. Highly recommend Raj Adventures. This was a fun day out for the whole family but I’d probably only recommend you carry kids in slings if you are fit and confident trekkers, as there is a lot of up and down climbing with no real steps.Visited April 2022Traveled with familyWritten April 28, 2022
- Arnold H1 contributionA Post-Lockdown TreatFor those looking for something to get those lockdown blues out of your system, I would definitely recommend a hike at les 7 Cascades. I was fortunate to get a guide called Prakash from Green Discovery (I contacted him via his fb site).. Prakash was an excellent guide who knew the area quite well, he managed the hike quite well, allowing me to explore on my own (of course as safely as possible) and giving me opportune moments to capture the beauty of the waterfalls and natural environment around. I will definitely recommend taking a hike here and may come again to take a full day tour instead with Prakash as this time due to time constraints I only managed to see 7, apparently there are around 14 to see...Visited November 2020Written November 9, 2020

I had envisioned a national park gate entrance with an opportunity to arrange a guide at the entrance. What a good thing I researched on TA and discovered reviews about Prakash! There was no gate entrance with a host of guides! This review is all about Prakash and the 7 cascades! Without Prakash to guide us we would not even have found the way in and we would have constantly been questioning ourselves that we going the wrong way. Although there are several well worn paths and at certain times of the day there are quite a few people and guides doing the hike , we went in the late afternoon and it was very quiet. there were very few people around. As we were hiking late in the day we were very pleased to have Prakash with us as it is not at all clear which way is out and we didn’t fancy exiting after 5.30pm when it starts to get dark. We came across two couples who were lost. I ‘Whats App’d’ Prakash on +230 5760 8367 and made all the arrangements via a couple of messages. We met at an agreed rendezvous point. He arranged safe parking for our hire car and guided us to the best viewing spots, the safest places to swim, safe pools to jump into from height etc etc. We weaved through the undergrowth down steep paths and in behind rocks to get the best views. There was no sense of rush, Prakash was our guide for 5 hours and if we had wanted to linger at each pool and soak up the sun before walking onto the next waterfall we could have done so, however we didn’t start until 13.45 and we easily managed to see all 7 falls and swim and jump and stop for food etc without feeling rushed in 3.5 hours. ( As it happened we were out long before dark but you wouldn’t want to be clambering up the steep loose surface in the dark) We would all highly recommend Prakash as a guide. If you are looking for a truly authentic experience of the area, Prakash runs Green Adventures and has a BnB with 2 rooms. We drove back to Prakash’s house after the hike for a cool drink and had the pleasure of meeting his lovely family…. But equally we could have left straight after our hike.Visited November 2021Traveled with friendsWritten November 18, 2021
- Charline W2 contributionsHalf day hike to the waterfallsWe would warmly recommend Rajadventures. We did the half day hike (4 waterfalls) with our six months old baby in a baby carrier. Rambo was our guide and he was absolutely great. Our safety and the safety of our little one was always a priority. He adapted the rythme to everyone of the group so that the hike was neither too difficult nor too slow. Along the hike, Rambo gave us a lot of nice information. For example, how to eat the raw sugar cane. After the hike, Raj and his wife Shoba welcomed us at their home and offered us drinks and food cooked by Shoba. Raj and Shoba were really friendly and caring with us and our little boy so that everyone felt good with them. You can either book a tour guide in advance or drive to the waterfalls by yourself and getting in touch with one of the guides waiting for tourists. Physically, the tour is not very challenging, however, since it is quite steep in certain passages it might be too demanding for elderly people or small children. Atish was our guide and he showed us the best places. He knew well about the plants and animals you can see on the trail. We were able to go swimming in one of the lakes below the third waterfall. After the hike Shoba invited us to some Indian delicacies. Booked a half day tour through Prakash at Green Discovery (after reading the great reviews on here!). We had Yogeshrao as our guide who knew everything about the area, routes and plants on our trip, and also took some amazing photos.
Would highly recommend a guide as you could easily get lost (we met some people who had), and couldn’t recommend ours more!
The half day tour ends at the top of the fifth waterfall which is a pretty big one (followed by lunch). If you wanted to go to the bottom of this one you’d need to do the full day, but having seen the others and had a swim we don’t feel we missed out too much by only doing the half day.

We did our 7 cascades tour with Raj Adventures and I just can highly recommend doing this tour with Raj. He is a well known guide and he is taking care about the group - which was out of 4 persons. Nice experience, great pictures and an overall Well done tour.
It was quite sporty so you should be in an okay constitution.
After our half day trip - which took around 3,5h - we got some nice lunch and drinks at home of Raj. A very warm and great hospitality.
The booking process is very comfortable and easy. Just send a what’s app, align on a date and all is done. Transfer you can book optional as well.

We found Prakash from Green Discovery through brilliant trip advisor reviews and they certainly lived up to expectations! We messaged him via Whastapp (+230 5760 8367) before we left for the holiday and Prakash was excellent communicating and accommodating our trip. The walk was challenging in parts - good hiking shoes are a must! - but the views and waterfalls were well worth all the effort! Prakash would always wait at the pools for swimming time, was happy to take photos and would wait for you whilst walking. Prakash was knowledgable about the walk and nature surrounding us which made for an interesting and knowledgable tour. A home made lunch was provided and it was incredible! An all in all thoroughly authentic Mauritian adventure, we would highly recommend anyone to book with Prakash!

If you like to hike there is a nice flat tour in the south, along the coast. The Friendly Dodo is offering this, it is like partially being driven in a van, and 3 hikes (coming all together to 10km). Check with Roman on WhatsApp +23057337559.

Would it be ok for my wife & I to walk this without a guide? Is it safe, and easy to find our way? We often go hill-walking in Europe and have done in other places too. We'll be in Mauritius in May. Thanks.

I would suggest not. Go with a guide, they have good knowledge of the routes and the area as well as ensuring all take care on the treacherous areas. There is no way we would have found the way without a guide
