Very poor upkeep by the owner. Please do not confuse this place with the actual Waterford Antique market which is the second half of the building. These are 2 completely different shops a whole different world next door. As of Oct 2018 The Old Country Store is CLOSED> Please come to visit the Waterford Antique market

Unless you are a heavy smoker, have no sense of smell, or enjoy the stench of nicotine soaked everything, I would steer clear of this place. I tried to breathe through my shirt for one minute, then promptly started coughing. My father and sister both couldn't stand the smell either, so we left. Spent the next half hour coughing up the smoke that soaked into my lungs. A definite no for anyone with allergies, asthma, and other lung conditions, or people who want to buy smoke-free antiques.

It’s a very interesting store, jam-packed with thousands of items, mostly from the 20th century, but some older as well. It comprises of numerous independent stalls, each belonging to a different vendor, displaying miscellaneous wares—you name them!
The prices are reasonable and everybody will certainly find something of interest. It’s also a great place to buy a small & inexpensive, yet very original and hip souvenir or gift. I don’t remember ever seeing such a huge antique store in Ontario. I chatted with the owner for a while—he is a very nice, original fellow who has probably been in this business for a long time. He told me that many years ago the building housed a factory.
I recommend this place.

This place is full of various collectibles, antiques and vintage stuff sold by numerous vendors. It is like visiting a museum, where you can actually buy the objects. I spent well over one hour there and wish I had more time! The individual vendors were not there, but Mr. Claire Hayes and his wife minded the store. We engaged in a very interesting conversation with them, they told us about the history of the building, the store and the town of Waterford.
Among other things, I spotted authentic Third Reich postcards, the last issue of the Toronto Telegram and plenty of other absolutely genuine and enthralling items that I wish I could buy. I wished I had had more time to explore that amazing place, but we had to head to back to Long Point Provincial Park. Next time I'm visiting Waterford, I'm going to set aside a couple of hours to visit just this store!
I also talked for a while to Mr. Tom Villeneuve, who was selling amazing antique toys and collectibles. Although I am not really interested in such item, I truly enjoyed talking to him-I could discern the passion he had for this hobby! He just moved to this location—before he had had a shop in Waterford in a different location and unfortunately, it had been broken into in 2016, resulting in significant losses. I hope that this location will turn out more secure!
In a nutshell,it is s one of those places that should not be overlooked during your visit to Waterford.

Jack's Country Store transported me back in time to my boyhood in the late 1960s. There were no Walmarts or Targets, just local stores like this one. I walked the wooden floors, passing glass fronted cases of knives, fishing reels, Timex wrist watches, shelves of toys. Where are you mother and father? I would have been teasing for a new cap gun. This store did my old heart good.
