The Cathedral has been renovated in the last year so it is beautiful.
The area where it is, is one of the best areas of North Zone.. San Isidro.
On weekends you have street artisan fair just outside it..
There is also a Tourist Train called "Tren de La Costa" worth the ride.
Can´t be missed on a sunny weekend...

Large Cathedral in the old historic section of San Isidro. Opened in the 1890s and built on the site of an old church built in 1706. It is worth visiting and walking the historic precinct, and then relax with a coffee in the Cafe across the road.

The cathedral is located near the San Isidro train station. The easiest (and cheapest) way to go to the cathedral is taking the Tren de la Costa and getting off at San Isidro station (the train is hop on hop off) when going to Tigre. In gothic style, the cathedral has almost 70m of height and it's good for photos.

Stopped here for a morning break on our way to Tigre. Large attractive cathedral made of red and tan brick. Built in 1890s. Understated but beautiful.

The Cathedral is situated in the heart of the San Isidro area in greater Buenos Aires. It's impressive recently refurbished exterior with an adjacent square filled with very tall trees make it a beautiful place to visit. The interior is similar to many other cathedrals but the coffee shops and restaurants nearby make it a "worthwhile visit". There is no illumination at night so I wouldn't recommend a visit after sunset and parking around the cathedral is metered (there are men who sell you hourly tickets). Price for parking is relatively cheap costing 15 pesos (75 cents) an hour 24/8/17.

The building itself is beautiful and features a really cool French architectural style, but it's nothing special or huge. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The neighborhood it sits in is really nice as well.

Stopped here prior to our Tigre Delta tour. Built on the site of a 1706 chapel opened by the city's founder, Captain Domingo de Acassuso, the cathedral was designed by French architects Dunant and Paquin, and inaugurated on July 14, 1898. It is constructed in neogothic style and it stands 68 m tall. Although bathed in brilliant sunshine externally, the interior was dark and gloomy and not conducive to photography without flash. Interesting Cathedral but not a "must see".

It is a pretty gothic cathedral but 20 min are more than enough to look around San Isidro and its surroundings. Personally I have found nothing special there even though it is considered to be an upscale place. Roads are uneven and hard to walk on and church is the only sightseeing there. Tigre is way prettier! This cathedral was just one of our stops on a tour to tigre delta. Would I go back to sanIsidro? No!
