What a fascinating place and a fascinating woman! If you like history and literature this house is a must see. The tour was great, the entry cheap and the gardens beautiful. I learned a lot and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea. Don't forget to get an original copy of Sur on your way out. A piece of history!

Beautiful gardens surround this once magnificent villa. Even though much seems have been done to restore it, it is far from the past glory and left me wondering of the splendor it was described by in history books... The restaurant/cafeteria is of basic standard but set in a cozy room, decorated with pictures of the many writers that visited and... More

This beautiful historic mansion was once the summer home of Victoria Ocampo where she hosted many famous dignitaries and celebrities. It is now part museum and part restaurant. It is a very peaceful and tranquil place with a tremendous aura of Argentine history. There is a nominal admission fee and it is well worth the visit.

Nice museum like atmosphere. They have concerts and special events to enjoy in the garden. Nice to see and visit. The place was an important part of argentine history and received very important visits in the time of Ms. Ocampo

This is a real historic relic of Argentinas great past. Wonderful tour of the rich and famous visitors to the grand house. Once located right on the river (they moved the river!) it's a tour de force of recent Argentine history. The architecture, external and internal is superb and the relics, furniture and fittings are superbly maintained and presented. You... More

The place is super nice and the gardens are most enjoyable, but DO NOT stay for tea or lunch because the service is very bad and slow. A must to look around but nothing else

I grew up reading Borges, Bioy Casares and the Ocampo sisters. The Victoria Ocampo's house is a great place to live those memories back. A walk on a golden era of the argentinean arts, food is good, great place for a sunny fall afternoon, sharing a tea with scons at the terrace.

A few weeks ago I reported on the Villa of Victoria Ocampo in Mar Del Plata and mentioned that the family owned another villa in San Isidro. I would like today to report to you on the Villa Ocampo in San Isidro. San Isidro is an historic municipality, in the greater Buenos Aires. It was built as a summer resort... More

Villa Ocampo was home for a well known Argentinian aristocratic family from 19th century. Now part of the UNESCO and declared of national interest it has re opened its doors as a museum and restaurant with full of cultural activities as jazz concerts and art exhibitions. It's a great place to go with family, friends or couples... Specially on a... More
