Huta Szkła Julia provides a truly captivating experience for visitors. We had the opportunity to watch the entire glass-making process live, including the creation of intricate figurines and vessels. The atmosphere at the factory is welcoming and engaging, with staff clearly dedicated to ensuring an informative and enjoyable visit.

Our guide was fantastic, offering insightful explanations and engaging with visitors throughout the tour. The combination of a well-organized visit, the fascinating glass production process, and a knowledgeable guide makes Huta Szkła Julia a must-visit for anyone interested in glass art and manufacturing.

You can observe how those exquisite glass items are made. There is a shop, kids may prepare their own glass items during a short workshop. Worth a visit. Takes 1h, ticket cost 20 PLN. Free parking available

Located in a small town is this excellent glassworks factory with regular tours. Unfortunately ours was not in English but we still enjoyed the tour and got alot out of it. The tour covers the glass making process from beginning to end and it was wonderful to see the hand crafted works first hand.
The factory also has a small cafe and two shops which feature a wide selection of quality glass ware for all budgets.

The visit to the glassworks was promising.
We took advantage of a factory tour and the workshop for the children. The workshop is offered either for engraving glass or painting glass. We took the painting and were quite satisfied.
The factory tour lasted 45 minutes, just like the workshop. Unfortunately, the tour only offers the option of using audio guides if you don't speak Polish. These cost 5 euros per person. However, the technology gave up after just 5 minutes, and you could hardly hear anything because of the noise in the factory hall. Of course, we didn't understand the Polish guide and so we had to form our own opinion. There is also a German handout at the checkout which is given out free of charge as an alternative to the audio guide. At least after the tour we were able to read through what we had seen again and we got the money for the audio guide back.
Next to the shop there is a nice café where cakes and coffee, among other things, are served at reasonable prices.
Overall, we were quite happy with the visit, even though the language barrier was a bit of a problem. The glassworks should improve the system here. Free parking is available directly at the glassworks.

The tour was interesting and ability to observe workers was great. The guide was quite knowledgeable however, he seemed to want to be somewhere else and rushed us through the tour mercilessly. After the tour I went to see their two shops where one is dedicated to translucent crystal glass and the other stocks colored glass. The items were beautiful and selection was pretty broad. Unfortunately shop assistants were surly and unhelpful. There was no usual politeness which I experienced in most areas of Poland. This last remark relates to all people I encountered in the Lower Silesia region. Perhaps it is just how people living in Lower Silisia are?

If you have never been to such place - go. But if have seen the Glass Blowers on Netflix or visited a similar workshop skip the tour and go straight to the Krystalium part.
The guide gave us the minimum information rushing us through the workshop. For the same price she could have told us some legends the region is rich with, jokes and/or some quiz questions to win a tiny souvenir. It usually doesn’t take much to make an experience really memorable.

Really interesting tour where you actually see the complete process of manufacturing a glass object. Not only you see the different machines and process steps meanwhile someone explains them to you, but also you walk around the workers and see with your own eyes the production of several glass items. Piece of advice: If you want to buy some glass items in their shop as a souvenir, check where they have been manufactured. They sell not only items manufactured in their own factory but also some others

Julia Crystal is located in a small pretty village in SW Poland tucked up against the mountains that form the border with the Czech Republic. This area was part of Germany for many years prior to WWll.

This area of Silesia is known for its long tradition of crystal making, which is evident in the lovely work on display at Julia.

You can tour the factory as well as visit the display area, which is extensive.

The factory can be reached by car or on the Jelena Gora municipal bus. Purchases can be wrapped for travel or they will also ship.

As compared to pricing in Canada, prices are moderate for excellent quality wine glasses, vases, lamps, plates etc. Styles vary from the traditional to very modern including clear crystal and a variety of colours.

There are walking trails around the village as well as casual dining places.

We did not visit the manufacture (no time), but had a fast look in the shop:
A big choice of beautiful things we found. The staff was very friendly and explained after asking.
Prices are little lower than in normal shops.
