This is a place that is really fun to visit. A huge model railway system with over 1,2 km of tracks (so far) and lots and lots of details everywhere. Built by the model railway club in Hassleholm, it is even more amazing considering all the time that they have put into this. The decision to make a scale replica of the railway network of Hassleholm's municipality is an excellent decision. And then to decide to stick with 1960s as the year for the replica makes it even more excellent. Scale copies of all the railway stations and the imediate surroundings of each area is a joy to see. Lots of buildings, vehicles, people and aminals. Some even with interactive features. Press a button and something happens in the diorama. So far they have finished step 1 and step 2 (winter landscape of the trakcs heading east towards Kristianstad) is in progress. Step 3 (north) is in planning only. Entrance fee of about 6€ is ok and they have a really good value for the money cafe once inside. On the downside might be the opening hours. Since it is run by volunteers, the opening hours are quite few and far apart. Check their homepage to make sure they are open. Photos and videos allowed. Free parking.…
