We made a point of visiting the castle during the time of the guided visit (every day at 2pm in summer, only in Swedish) and the hour spent wandering through the grounds of the fortified mansion and its rooms was a delight. Our guide, Annika,...More

I had their buffet and I really loved the food. The cod in white wine sauce is absolutely brilliant. Spoke to the young chef and I had to tell him that I have seldom had so good fish and I don't really enjoy fish normally.

We have been here many times. The castle is set in the most beautiful of nature surrounds. It has an interesting history going back 500 years. Taking a guided tour is a good idea to really feel the history to come alive. There is a...More

It is a beautiful place especially in springtime. To fully appreciate it book a tour and learn about its exciting history. While you are there you should visit the "Biblioteksruinen" not far away from the castle. It is a magical place!!

Having recently moved to Skåne we have twice now visited this Castle with surroundings. The season started with a first of May event where the Lund students choir sung seasonal songs. Next they display a tournament from the middle ages. Do not miss the shop...More

Hovdala Castle is surrounded by beautiful beech trees close to a lake and history tells that this Castle actually played an important role during the wars between Sweden and Denmark. You can still see bullet holes in the gates and the tower caused by the...More

This castle situated beautifully outside Hassleholm are not the typical European castle. So compared with those castles this is a grade three to me, but for being Hassleholm it would be a grade four and almost a must in when in Hassleholm. The main tower...More
