Wide variety of snakes, personalized service, fun and amazing experience. They were gentle with the snakes and with me. Allowed me to push my limits. All the snakes were healthy and well cared for. Highly recommended!!!

The farm is definitely worth visiting! There are about 12 snakes on the farm. You get to touch about 4 and observe the other poisonous ones for about 800 rupees.
The farmer is a nice guy and happy to answer all your questions about his snakes :)

The snakes are kept in dark boxes without light. The cobras were brought out and poked with a stick to make them angry and hiss. Two cobras were forced to get angry with each other to start a fight.
And the cost? 3,000 rupees! What a total rip off. Do not go here and do not encourage this bad treatment of animals.

I am not sure who writes all the amazing reviews that made me decide upon visiting this place. First thing, it is not a farm but a shed (that would fit one big or two small cars) where this guy keeps around 25 cages with the snakes in total darkness. The show is seeing him picking each snake and placing it on the floor, then saying one or two sentences about each snake. In total, he showed me 6 snakes. Probably my show was shorter than others because he noticed I was not having much fun. The terrible thing is that these snakes look half-dead. They barely move (or try to scape), I guess because they are shocked by the daylight after spending hours or days locked in their tiny cages. I asked one stupid question: "Do they ever get out of the cages, like to go for a walk or something?". The answer was "No". I heard only one strong hiss when moving close to the cages. I looked at the guy and he saig that this one was "new" and still "angry". OK, so the nakes get angry when you pick them?! No answer. It was a terrible experience. Much worse than a zoo. However, this place calls itself "a farm" or, I could also read, a "center for conservation". The least important detail of all, 1000 rupees for a 12-minute show. Sad, disgusting and terrible.

This really is not worth RS1500 per person. We were expecting a proper farm with snakes in large glass cabinets etc but no... We were escorted into a small room where there were around 10 of the world's most venemous/ dangerous snakes held in small wooden boxes. The staff would remove a lid and pull a snake out and hold it out for us to touch or hold (yes hold, even though they were clamping down on its head to prevent it from biting). Meanwhile, the on-site 'doctor,' (yes you read correctly), was pointing out all of his scars he received from being bitten. No thanks. There is nothing about this place worth visiting for and I certainly would not take children here.

We did the mistake of not asking for the price before entering and where ripped off, ending paying 2,000 rupees per adult.
The snakes were beautiful but the price asked was unfair, especially for a party of 8 people.

We went there under the assumption it was a good place for the snakes in rates of being captive. Now captive place for animals is good. But snakes are in small boxes and are being pulled out for tourist to take fotos. If you like and love animals you wont visit because you will keep supporting this. No pictures on purpose.

This isn't a snake farm but a conservation centre.
The family have owned the property for 200 years and it was started by the current proprietors grandfather.
It now offers free herbal medicines to combat snake bites, which if i quote the owner correctly, kill 2000 people annually in Sri Lanka.
We went with our kids 6, 10 and 11 and loved it. We got to hold a phython and tree snake amongst others and saw a russells viper and black and white cobras aswell as spiders and scorpions outside of there cages which was a spine tingling experience.
This was the first time I'd experienced these snakes up close and personal and it was an amazing experience.
I cant believe those people who are so tight they can't donate less than £10 for the privilege, when they provide such a valuable service to the community and look after such magnificent creatures so well. They have to be fed! But then you'll always get people who expect something for nothing. Don't listen to them and experience something you'll remember!

I can not recommand this. Snakes live in small cages and are not allowed to live a natural live. The owner does not treat the snakes well. It is like a mafia..... 20 Euro per Person..... only possibillity for the way bqck is the friend of the owner who charges 30 Euro......
