Uji River ran along the center of city with many tea houses by the riverside. It was one of tourist attraction and recommended to have green tea tasting at one of the shops along the shopping street.
The river looks great in november with all the maple leaves turning red. Walk along the main street selling the famous tea and down to the river. Several original japanese restaurants overlooking the river. 15 minutes walk from the train station. Worth a visit
Come enjoy river views; temples on both sides. A couple of interesting bridges with scenic overlooks.
The river is very wide and runs rapidly. This river is not a tourist attraction. Near the Keihan train station and will pass by this place if you going to the famous temple
Uji is almost like a Kyoto suburb to the south. You willl go through it on the train to Nara and probably not give it much thought. We did as we found there was an evening attraction of traditional fishing with Cormorant birds on the river. Take the Nara train line about 25…
