Indira Gandhi park is the venue for the state level functions and it was pleasant to see colourful and beautiful Republic Day function at the park. The function is attended by Governor, Chief Minister and all important dignitaries with people of the state. There is an impressive march past by police and para military forces and school children accompanied by their brass and pipe bands. There is really colourful showcasing of state cultural heritage with dances from all tribes of the state. There are beautiful tableaux on themes of developments and important issues. Overall it is showcasing the best of the state culture and development. Really absorbing 2 hour show.

Great Place for a brisk morning walk and evening walk. Lot of open area, fresh air. Location is very well situated. Greenery will make mind fresh.

It is pride of Itanagar. It is extremely green, beautiful and lovely. This is the place where all big outdoor functions happen, be it Independence Day, Republic Day, Statehood Day, political rallies, cultural or religious functions. Overall this is the most happening place in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from big functions, this is the place where children can play cricket, football or have picnics. It is an excellent place for walks and one can enjoy the great scenes and sights from here.
In a corner, there is a park dedicated to late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi whose statue is there to inspire the people. There is an old Indian Air force fighter jet placed there but has been damaged quite a bit.
Within the park there is a science centre where science and technology has been displayed. Can be good place to learn science and its application for young students.
There is no entry fee to the park.
There are three gates of the park and it would be lovely if you take a stroll around of the whole place. One would love it. The green surroundings and the views are definitely a huge plus point.

You get into this undulating and well spread out park with lot of expectation but walk out disappointed. The approach itself is uninviting with the narrow entrance for those on foot muddy and need repair. In the absence of any signage you walk in to a lovely road winding down. After sometime you see a statue of Indira Gandhi on the right. You walk up to it passing a vandalized IAF fighter plane. No wonder the bust of the former PM faces away from the expanse of green no doubt ruing its poor maintenance. You go down the expanse and cross a dilapidated bridge over a dirty stream.A part of the park with few flowers are locked out.You can come out of the patch and go down road to patches of green with lovely trees in between.Seriously this could have been such a lovely garden with little planning and much effort. And some flower beds.

The park seemed to lack proper maintenance. I attempted to sit at one of the concrete benches but was prompted not to do so, seeing the dirt and mud all over the bench. Also, there was no shed to avoid the drizzle.

The park is very close to the VIP road in Itanagar.
It was refreshing to see the lush greenery in the middle of town, which was very dusty during my stay.
I could spot locals playing badminton and frisbee.
Can visit to take a stroll or indulge in some activities.

It is in the centre of the town and mostly unkempt.

Evening walkers & health enthusiasts flock in the evening.

Nothing for the tourists

This multipurpose ground is centrally located and used for all occasions like exhibitions, meetings etc. The only problem is the excess road from highway which is poorly maintained. It serves as a lung space for the city
