Great place for gifts
Jan 2018 • Couples
We stopped here while on our cruise. We found so many gifts and souvenirs to bring back to our kids and other family members here. The prices weren't too bad either. This is definitely a good place to go if you're looking to pick up something unique.

Great gifts
Jan 2017 • Couples
Located at the end of the West Bay Mall, So Tropic has a great selection of island gifts, t-shirts, necessities, vanilla, honey and more. One cool shirt that we found was the "I love the banana donut" t-shirt. Very nice marketing for the "Banana Donut Man!" Very friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Cool stuff, great bikini selection

So glad we found this shop, what a gem! Wound up getting all of our trip gifts from here because they trade with local craftsmen and have awesome gifts (small or large). I also picked up a couple great swimsuits, styles I had not seen before, and I get compliments every time I wear them. Also, there is a rum cake they sell that is made locally, BUY THIS. Seriously, buy this. I bought three and all three were eaten by the time I got off the plane back in the states, best rum cake I've ever had!

Everything you need
Mar 2015 • Friends
So Tropic has a great selection of gifts but also stocks the essentials: bug spray, pain killers etc. I was really delighted to find a great box of cigars. I have bought cigars before in the caribbean and on returning home found that they have not been looked after properly and the quality is compromised. These cigars were pristine and my uncle for whom they were for was delighted. The service was friendly and helpful and it was a pleasant experience all round.

Stopped by the shop looking for items made locally. We were very fortunate to be assisted by Sara, she was very knowledgeable on items in the store. Very pleased with our purchases. (IPhone cover worked great!)

Excellent store- great variety and great prices!

This shop is in an inconspicuous location but it is such a great store you should definitely make your way! It is just around the corner from Mayan princess and has a great variety of souvenirs to necessities you may use for your vacation. The owner is very nice and I love that she adopted two island dogs who now have their favorite spots among her shelves. This is exactly the kind of business that deserves support and tourist dollars!

Everything I could have wanted
Sep 2014 • Couples
Snorkel gear? check.
Bugspray? (yes, you'll definitely be needing more of this) check.
clothes for the warm weather & beautiful water? check.
art from local Honduran artists? check.
my grandmother favorite collectable spoons? oh yes.

I found myself wandering into So Tropic accidentally, but I kept coming back for convenience. After my first night in Roatan, I realized that our bug spray was wholly inadequate and I found myself rushing back to So Tropic the next morning as they had a better selection than any of the other stores in West Bay or West End. Sure enough, I also picked up all the gear I needed for the week + plus some great gifts for my family. Couldn't have been happier with the tips that Rachel (the owner) gave me on how to spend our romantic holiday. Thanks Rachel!!

Oh, and don't forget -
the happiest little puppy you've ever seen? yes. definitely. yes.

Great Gift Shop
We went into this gift shop several times and Sara McBride made us feel so welcome. A lot of items for sale and the prices are good. T shirts good quality, good price for snorkel and goggles. In a small shopping center on the West Bay. Don't miss it.

Most fun I've ever had at a souvenir shop - authentic local mementos
Sep 2014 • Couples
We stopped by here to pick up some bug spray, and had the chance to meet the lovely blond Rachel, who owns and oversees this establishment.

She gave us a thorough tour of her shop and some of her backstory - I won't give it all away but it includes growing up in Alaska, knowing how to use a gun, getting a top-tier MBA, a life of traveling around the world, and finally setting on Roatan and adopting every stray animal she sees.

Stop by and chat her up - and check out the locally handmade authentic mementos while you're at it. Or if you're female, a wide selection of clothing and bathing suits. She also has champagne for celebrations, waterproof camera cases for rental, Cuban cigars that are apparently legal to bring back to the US, and a funny-shaped maracas for parties (we were going to buy that but ended up with the wooden Christmas tree ornament instead).

Have fun and wear sunscreen - it's near the equator! (good tip from Rachel, regretting right now that I didn't listen to her)
