We went in on a rainy day, so it was nice change not having drops of water falling on our heads, but the aquarium is really little. Anyway, it doesn t cost that much and for the amount of money you get to see beautiful range of fish and sea creatures. Plus it s situated in a nice port with a lighthouse and great ocean views.

As long as you manage your expectations of this place you should have a good time. We were walking along the coastal road from Algorta down to the Vizcaya bridge and this was a good diversion. It was cheap to get in and took 30 mins to go around. It is well presented , interesting displays and all in all a pleasant experience.

The aquarium is in a non descript building alongside the marina. The day we visited the guy on reception warned us there were groups of schoolchildren inside but that didn’t bother us. Yes, the aquarium is quite small compared to others you might have visited but what struck me was how well the fish looked in their clean tanks with living coral and weeds (which is the main reason I gave this an “excellent” rating) - staff obviously care and know what they’re doing. Entrance is very reasonable at 3.25euros per adult. Fish are all small varieties and mainly tropical so don’t go expecting large sharks, whales or Dolphins! One disappointment was we were unable to get the QR codes to work on our phones. This might be somewhere to add to your places to visit on a rainy day and there’s plenty of parking along the quay. Check my pic for opening times.

Not really an aquarium but instead more like someone's personal collection. At least it's cheap. It took all of 5 minutes to see the two rooms. Not a rip off but not worth the time, unless you just happen to be close by and have very small kids and nothing to do.

We are sorry that your visit did not meet your expectations. We are a medium-sized aquarium with over 200 different species of algae, invertebrates and fish. The aquarium's live coral collection has a high biological value. We have a free wifi network and each aquarium has a QR code so that with a smartphone you can access all the information in three languages: Spanish, Basque, and English
