I was very impressed by how organised this museum is. They have audio guides in english with so much info that it took us at least to hours to hear every detail. Beautifully made, clean, friendly people, descent collection of archeological findings, interesting shop for books and souvenirs and right in the center of the beautiful town. There is no parking for the museum though, but that's the only disadvantage.

Very interesting short visit, really enjoyed looking at the very old Apothecary and the latest Roman finds - worth a visit

We did the guided tourist tour of the historical highlights and buildings of Maaseik. at the end we entered the city museum and apothecary. It was ok but not of spectacular intrest. only if you have to fill some hours before Lunch.

Interesting to visit and useful english booklet that can be borrowed from the information centre. We prefered the apothecary to the archeilogiccal museeum.

We mainly came for the apothecary but in the price of 6 euros is also included the archeological museum and the treasures of the St Catharina church so we did these two also. The apothecary is interesting but small, the rest was not so interesting for us and a bit boring and very different from the apothecary. We found the combination of the three things a bit strange.

This museum has a pharmacy reconstructed in the style it had around 1800. That makes it the oldest pharmacy in Belgium. The archeological part has items from mammoth bones to prehistoric human items, to Roman items, up until the 18th century or so. Highlights are a well-preserved Roman medic's set of copper pencils, a guilded medieval fibula, and 18th century ivory sculptures.
