This lake is so shallow! For thermophiles like myself it's hard to get into the water when the grade is so low. But it would be an excellent lake for children to wade/paddle around in without getting into trouble.

Usually a pretty quiet place for a picnic, swim or paddle. The wind can pick up so be aware if you're out on the water. Fun to go to a freshwater lake that is so accessible as most things are focused around the ocean on Haida Gwaii so it's a nice change for a day trip.

This is not an over-developed lake park. Services are basic: outhouses, picnic table or two(sometimes), minimal "beach". But when the temps are up there(25C is hot here) this is a great place to cool off. Long shallow area- a bit squishy between the toes. Some winters(1 in 5) when it's cold enough for a week, it's a great outdoor skating... More

The lake shore was fine but the lake itself was small and unremarkable. I'm not sure how the name "Pure Lake" was earned.

If your here in the summertime, this is the place to go for a refreshing swim. Normal temp at the lake in the summer months is 85F and the swimming area is very shallow. You can wade out at least 100' or more before it really starts to get deeper, there are picnic tables at the shore line. At the... More
