Went here with my three kids (25, 16, and 12) and we all had a blast. They run a great operation…many people coming in all at once, but it’s a very organized chaos. We did the 2 hour ATV tour and the ziplining. The ATV tour was great because it’s a long, interesting course that takes you all the way to a quiet, private beach before you turn around. Hot! And we got filthy dirty, but it was a blast. Two of my kids said it was their favorite part of the trip. The zip lining was great (tip: hire the photographer for $20/person, we got the best photos and could enjoy our time). I have previously been kind of scared ziplining, but this was very secure; I felt like they took all the safety precautions very seriously. Note that there are some short hikes between routes, thank god they had water stops! Big shout out to our guides for both excursions, they were awesome! Really friendly and fun, those interactions really made us more comfortable and relaxed. Thank you!

Miguel was everything! We opted for a UTV which is a ride you can sit in versus on like an ATV. We tried it in Aruba and felt way more comfortable. This ended up being a private tour and we absolutely loved the privacy. Miguel was rolling through the woods, and I was right on his tail. He could tell that I wanted to roll through and on the straightaways, I got up over 60 kph (which was AWESOME)!! He took his time with us and when getting to the beach, he saw a trash bag full of trash and immediately picked it up. He put it on the back of his ATV and brought it back, which I loved. You could tell he loved his country and the land he traversed daily. I had a slight issue with my UTV switching gears and couldn't get out of first. Miguel slowed down so I could explain, and he switched it 2WD instead of 4WD for a bit and it worked like a charm. The lookout point he took us to was breathtaking and again, he explained about the area, the trails, the hotels around us and so forth. It was the personal experience for my wife and I that we loved the most. I felt that I could have done the 4-hour trip versus the 2 hours, but the latter was just as incredible. It was awesome and when we come back, I could definitely try the 4-hour trip instead just to see how it is. Thank you, Miguel!
After our UTV trip was over, the lady at the front desk suggested we go through their 'rescue zoo' and couldn't have been happier doing so. Our guide was great as he explained about all their animals (a lot of which were rescue animals or those offered up by residents who didn't or couldn't care for them any longer). My wife got to see her favorites, the monkeys. She freakin' loved them. The iguanas were everywhere and a huge one on top of one of the cages. The crocodiles made sure to open their mouths when we walked by which was both scary and impressive at the same time. I highly recommend the tour for a fun afternoon of running through the mud and water.
FYI...you can wear whatever but if you're looking to get crazy and speeding through the multiple creeks, I recommend wearing something you don't mind getting dirty. If you're conservative in your driving, wear whatever you want. My wife had on sneaker wedges FYI...

While the title of this business is Canopy Tour they offer a bunch of other activities. I actually did the ATV riding activity which was booked through the hotel. The welcome and check in was seamless and we were a group of 5 on this ATV riding activity which was about 2-2.5 hours long that took up through the forest and to the beach where our guide allows us some free time to drive around and test the ATV capabilities... which were limited on the other parts of the drive due to terrain, traffic, etc. Our guide was ok.. not overly friendly and exciting which usually makes a big difference. It was a fun experience and recommend doing an ATV tour either with this company or another one but this area was fun for this type of activity.

From a customer experience I wouldn’t rate this company as 1!!!
We attended this tour as part of another tour we had booked. We expected a little wait - got there 10:45 and was told it was a 20 min wait to get up to the zips as they only had 4 staff working on 10 zip lines.

We waited and eventually got up to the harness fitting to be told there was no harnesses and we had to wait for the staff to bring them up, we waited until the 11:10, when more staff turned up… this was not a quick process - waited another 25 mins. We was then asked if we wanted photos, we chose not to, they give you a different coloured helmet.. there is a reason behind this. If you’re not paying $20 each then you’re at the back of the queue as the people paying go to the front! A little infuriating as we had been waiting a long time, they finally got us on the trail zip line and it took so long we ended up leaving at 12, we were so fed up of waiting around it was horrendous.

We have tried to raise this through the company who were absolutely shocking and instantly told us to raise it through trip advisor, Facebook reviews and our tour operator, they couldn’t care less. So I did raise it. As you can see they have since blocked me on the group and have no doubt edited/deleted the review. This place really doesn’t deserve the custom they receive I would 100% avoid and check the FB comments before booking, I have noted some people have had great experiences here, we did not and have raised it with the company who were shocking hence why we have raised it on here.

I would have given this 5 stars based on the zip lining. We went with my 7 and 9 year olds, my 7 year old was terrified. But the guides were soooo child-friendly and encouraging and got him to ride tandem with them for the first 8 lines, and then he even felt brave enough to do the last 2 himself!! The lines weren’t too high or fast, perfect for children. They may have higher lines, but we didn’t ask so I can’t speak to that. They did however offer for us to ride upside and “superman” style as we felt more comfortable. The guides English was very good and they were super friendly and knowledgeable. We felt very safe and it was a lot of fun!!

So the animal sanctuary on site….I would still recommend it bc it was an amazing opportunity to see animals up close HOWEVER DO NOT feed the white-faced monkeys!! The guide inside with us spoke almost no English (or just didn’t speak) and encouraged us to feed the animals. I asked if it was safe and if they bite and he said no (but maybe he didn’t understand my English) This was super fun as the white faced monkeys in particular was so interactive and playful until one bit my daughter!! They are fenced in, but the openings are large enough for their tiny hands and mouths to fit through. My daughter was holding a carrot stick and a 3rd monkey surprised her, grabbed her finger, and pulled it through the fence and bit her, breaking skin on both sides of her finger. While the guide helped her rinse it with water and gave her paper towels, that was it. Nothing else was recommended.

Upon first asking the sanctuary assured us the animals had all the required shots. But when I later inquired specifically about Rabies, he said that was not a required vaccine and therefore the monkeys had not received them.

So maybe I’m nuts for still recommending this place, it was fun because you can engage more with the animals than other sanctuaries like Monteverde where they are more securely contained (albeit it’s safer that way!) But I am disappointed with their lack of knowledge or response after the bite. And that they only had one guide inside who lacked of caution and didn’t speak English. So go at your own risk.

They asked us to pay 20 USD each on top of the admission fee for pictures because they said we cannot use our phone cameras and then did not even send us the pictures. There were 10 of us.

They just keep claiming they sent us the pictures. I called, emailed and whatsapped them for the past week and they just stopped responding claiming that they already sent us the pictures.

The lady at the gift shop (Audrey I think is her name) has really bad customer service and was very rude. They did not even verify who paid and who didn't They just took our money and she said "we will email you the pictures later today". So there was no verification process or receipt given to us.

My friend took a taxi the next day to talk to them and they made her PAY AGAIN to get a fraction of the pictures that we were originally supposed to get. They only gave her pictures of herself and not of the group. They never refunded the rest of us who paid.
They expected us all to pay again. Such a horrible business they are running. Cannot believe they were allowed to just take our money like that.

AVOID at all costs! There are way better ziplining places in Guanacaste that won't scam you like this one did!

What a great time we had ziplining through the trees! The guides were professional and very accommodating. I was pretty nervous; they picked up on that and made me feel at ease. It was a great time! I highly recommend paying the extra $40 to have a photographer go on the zips with you - the photos turned out great! We also took the 2-hour ATV tour that led us to a secluded beach. Getting to experience the countryside was beautiful, and the guide was excellent. We stopped at the beach for about 20 minutes to relax before returning, which was quite lovely. Highly recommend!

Was easy to sort a price before we came to Costa Rica and was sent a list of activities. This meant we could pick the day around other trips. Accepted Card payment on the day which was great. We did the original Zip lines, ATV and Animal sanctuary. We opted for the pick up from the RIU Palace which was great, we started with a tour of the animal sanctuary which was $5 each as we had booked other activities, saw Crocodiles, met Monkeys around the short walk. Then we did a 2 hour ATV tour, we had the kids on the back of ours, we was done at a nice pace for the family taking us through the park, down to a beach seeing some of the countryside on the way. Water was provided on the trip. Adults and kids loved it. We then did the Zip lining which was a great experience and would recommend, the instructors did the lines with you and made it easier with their guidance. We The whole experience was from 9.30 pick up and dropped us back around 2pm which was great so we could enjoy sometime around the pool. Would highly recommend.

Recently my wife and I visited Costa Rica and we had the fantastic opportunity to enjoy the Canopy Tour of the Congo Trail. Since we arrived we were lucky to be looked after by Francisco Aguilar; very fine attention, special customer service, always friendly and smiling, which is great in all types of businesses. We decided to do the zip line tour and once we were ready, the guides Marlon, Donald and Alonso took care of us; we were impressed by the quality of attention they gave us, the kindness, cordiality, and confidence in their work, always attentive to our safety, the detailed explanations between the platforms on natural history of the fauna and surroundings. We really enjoyed the visit very much and we will definitely recommend them to our friends who in fact have already been asking how to access the tours and go visit The Congo Trail soon. For our part, it is a fact that we will return in a few months with the whole family and we will buy different tours to enjoy with the rest of the family as well. Thank you very much for the kind attention and warmth with which you received us.

Went with my daughter as this was an item on my bucket list. I was so glad we chose this zipline tour which is only about a 10 minute drive from the RIU Resort. Kevin and Oscar were fantastic and made sure that we had a great experience and even took pictures for us. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and comfortable closed toe shoes as there is a fair amount of uphill walking. They had several cold water coolers along the way which was much needed in the 34C heat. Having ziplines numerous times around the world I was pleased to see the quality of the equipment was very good and you are secured to a line at all times. I would highly recommend this tour which also included ATVs and horseback riding if you wanted to do a longer tour. Thanks again to guides Kevin and Oscar, who made the Tour a fantastic experience.
