About
Hardwick Park is a country park with a difference. Now a Visit England accredited attraction, it has survived since the 1750s when its then owner, John Burdon, created a sprawling ornamental park. Today, the remains of some of the original buildings he created can be seen throughout the park, which suggest the area has a richer story to tell. Hardwick Park is a great place to spend the day. Stroll through the park and admire the natural beauty of the lake, woodland and wildlife. The visitor centre also has excellent facilities including an interactive display, education room, cafe and toilets.Throughout the year there are a variety of events, activities, walks and workshops for all to enjoy.

Parking fine!

Lovely park, which we visit often. On this occasion, we visited today and had to park in the overflow. There was a sign taped over the parking payment machine, which would not allow payment. Returned to the car, only 35 minutes later as it began to rain, to find a £50 parking ticket!
Very costly visit!!

More than a park
Nov 2020 • Couples
Hardwick Park is more than just a park. There are a few lakes with lots of birds for the kids to feed, there are monuments and buildings. It is a beautiful place to walk around for any age.
We payed £2 for 2 hours parking which was perfectly fine. There is a overflow car park for when it's busy.

Coffee and cake despite lockdown

Was in the adjacent hotel through work and walked around here most days for some R&R as everything else was shut.
Lovely park with various follies and curios dotted around a large lake.
Cafe served some good fresh food that we needed as the hotel restaurant was closed!

Live near so often pop in for a walk, but our main aim is the bird hide where we spent a great time watching the many birds and sometimes a cheeky squirrel after the nuts and seeds! Sadly it seemed rather neglected and over grown, the feeders were empty and no birds about...Is it being upkept or not?

Lovely place but needs abit more care
Oct 2020 • Family
The park it's self is beautiful . Loads of lovely walks which are dog and pram friendly. Plenty of things to keep the children entertained. The most disappointing thing was the toilet's. Both toilets I when in had no loo rolls and first soap dispenser I when to had no soap. I understand it's a busy park but with covid going on,the toilet's should be cleaned and checked more! For a lovely place the loo's were abit grim with mess on the floor.

Many thanks for your review, I am pleased you have enjoyed your visit. Whilst our Visitor Centre is not currently fully open, our café is open 10-3 daily, the gift shop is open 11-4 at weekends and school holidays (weather permitting), and the public toilets are open 10-4 daily.

A visit for all ages

Me and my husband take my little boy who’s 4 here occasionally as he loves it. There is a grufallo hunt and a dragon sculpture for the kids to find and the park is immaculately kept with different birds that reside there which we love to feed and find. There is also old ruins that my little boy loves to play amongst. It’s an attraction for all ages

Nice walk
Sep 2020 • Couples
Visited here a couple of times and always had a lovely walk around the grounds and lake. It is free to enter but the parking is £2 for up to 4 hours (plenty time) and £3 all day.

There is lots of different paths and routes you can take and it's very scenic, next to Hardwick Hall.

There is a Café which does takeouts next to the park and toilets.

Will keep returning as it's lovely to have a walk around.
