We struggled to find the road to the waterfall as they are faded so much. We decided to go to the top first and then work our way down. We got to cool our feet off in one of the lower pools. It’s not a long or difficult hike so I would highly recommend going. Ask for clear instructions on where to go at the info centre on Church Street when you purchase your permit.

Interesting and picturesque early morning walk. Above the falls there are quite a lot of invasive species. We didn’t have time to head up the jeep track heading north, which could be worth exploring. The “official” trail is very short—less than 2km for the round trip.

The Waterfall was so beautiful. Well worth the short drive and even shorter hike :). Winter time would be the best time to visit because then the region has had rain so the waterfall will be as full as we experienced it this weekend. My husband could not stop taking photo's. These are but a few that we share with you.

We went to the waterfall before and after rainy days and it was obviously much more impressive after the rain. Lovely place to go for a walk. Took our dogs on one outing but stopped as there are too many ticks. If you want to be close to nature whilst in Tulbagh this is a great place to go for a walk.

My husband and I hiked all the way up the mountain to see the waterfall, but it was dry. No wonder because the Western Cape is in the middle of a serious drought, but i do think the gentleman at the tourism office who sells the tickets for hte waterfall could tell the guests that it is dry.

The pools above the waterfall are the best. Definitely worth the five minute hike to the top falls. Let the water rush over you.

A pity that by April the falls were dry but in October they were outstanding

We managed to visit the Tulbagh Waterfall after some good rains. You walk either to the lower waterfalls, which is easy on a well maintained path. You can also walk up to view the waterfall from the top with gorgeous views over Tulbagh Valley. Be prepared though for a tough vertical climb up the last 10m. Overall a good experience & fab spot for lunch. Note: you need to buy a R10 pp permit from Tulbagh Tourism Office.

Get your ticket at the Tourism office for R10 pp and take a easy drive to the awesome waterfalls - a bit of a gravel road, but not too hectic. Park at the entrance and take a lovely walk up to the top.... Make sure to wear takkies.... Walk not difficult - 20 min to the top. Have a swim or chill with snacks on the rocks.... Walk down is a bit slippery because rocks are loose - but the whole family can join in on this one!

The Waterfall hike was on our itinerary but unfortunately the rain wouldn't subside (or the 62 kph winds!), then on the Sunday we went for drive and spotted the waterfall from another part of the valley - we just had to go and see for ourselves!
It was amazing - especially after the rain! Easy hike and lovely pools to swim in - can't wait for summer!
