The White Stupa
Sep 2019 • Couples
This is one of the sight of our 8-day central/ southern Mongolia tour. The local call it the white stupa as it is regarded as a holly place for the locals. Bundle of rocks can be seen at the site as it is some form of nature worship. We were told that the devotees would make wishes as going around the rock bundle, and throw a rock onto the rock bundle upon completion of one cycle around the circle. Wishes will be granted by doing the same actions for three times. The colourful rock formation is as a result of strong wind. Another breathtaking nature wonder in central/ southern part of Mongolia. The journey to reach this destination is extremely bumpy, but the fascinating natural wonder is well worth the effort! Also, it’s not easy to drive here, and best way is to engage a tour guide and driver here, in order not to be stress out by the difficulty in navigation.

Interesting geological formations with some hiking
May 2019 • Family
Tsaagan Suvarga is an interesting geological formation with various colors and some hiking trails. You can walk down from the top and meet your car near the bottom. It's not worth a trip by itself, but it's not far off the main road if you need to make a stop on the main road from UB.

Unexpected change in the landscape
Sep 2018 • Friends
Beautiful cliffs in an otherwise relatively monotonous landscape. If you are by car or dirtbike you can drive on the hills below

WORTH SEEING
Jun 2018 • Couples
Was a great place to visit and hike down into the canyon. A very interesting formation rising out of the land below. The Tsagaan Survarga Ger Camp was the worst ger camp we stayed in on our 16 day trip to Mongolia. The toilets and showers were disgusting, the food we could not eat but we were expecting more of this poor quality accommodation but this was by far the worst.

White Stupa or White Starling
Jun 2017 • Couples
This is well worth a visit as it visually wonderful as well as geographically interesting. It is a big limestone escarpment with a height of 200m and a length of 400m. It is well worth the climb to the top as it provides you with excellent views of the wonderful rock formations created by the wind. There were few people while we were there so it was peaceful as well as spectacular.

nice view at sunset
May 2017 • Couples
it is a nice stopover on the way if you are heading that way. Not worth a stand alone visit. Try to reach there around sunset for a nice view of the mud cliffs

A wonderful place to see at sunset. The white stupa is magnificent! You can hike around and easily spend multiple hours (be sure to bring water).

Beautiful Location
Jul 2017 • Couples
Beautiful site and worth seeing along with other places as part of a package tour. It would not be worth traveling to the Gobi region just to see this place alone as it will only keep you interest for about 1 hour.
