A very underrated and beautiful part of the world.

The nature reserve is 40km long if you drive the road to the end, which is well worth it. One can then stop at the various attractions and beaches, while taking in the fauna. The reserve is in good condition, and the road is easily driven in a normal sedan.

If you have never been to the west coast in the western cape then you haven't seen South Africa. South Africa has many fantastic things to offer but this colourful stretch of beach with kite and wind surfing sails abounding is just magic. The constant wind makes it ideal for this and also negates the need for air conditioning. The lack of humidity also make it pleasant. Great holiday vibe. People smiling and enjoying themselves. If you haven't been I can only recommend it

A large national park next to the sea and a lagoon. Full of flowers in the Spring and Local wildlife such as zebra and ostrich. There is a restaurant which we did not use, but allow at least two hours to explore.

I have visited langebaan lagoon recently with my family as a annual fishing day. There is absolutely no fish in the lagoon. I remember the lagoon teaming with fish. But niw there is nothing at all. Not one bite. Why is this? Over fishing? Very very sad.

I spent two days in Langebaan. There is nothing interesting there. A complete waist of money and time!

The natural cape winds mean the lagoon is a great place for water sports, and a great place if you enjoy watching water sports

Langebaan is the most beautiful town on the west coast of South Africa. The beaches are prestine and world class.Although the water can be on the cold side, every now and then you have ocean currents that warm the water. There are so many things to do besides the numerous beaches, such as a water park, shopping in a wonderful shopping centre, club Mykonos resort and casino etc etc.

On my hubby's 50th birthday, we decided to do something memorable. We hired a two-seater kayak from Cape Sport Center and rowed out from the Langebaan Lagoon Main beach to Schaap island. The time spent on the lagoon was so peaceful and relaxing and though we are no experts in kayaking, we could fairly easily make the trip back and forth in two hours. We saw seals in the clear water around us and many species of seabirds on the island. You have to be moderately fit to do this as the currents can be a bit strong at times, so best to do this on a wind still day, but it is definitely an experience you will remember. You are provided with life jackets as well when hiring the kayak.

Langebaan is a very popular part of the Cape West Coast, yet it feels more secluded. The whole landscape is very beautiful and the lagoon stretches over a large geographic area. There is such a lot to explore along the Lagoon shores that it is well worth exploring far and wide.
