Yet you might visit Ylläs just for skiing (downhill or xc) or snowboarding, there is also other things to do and see then just the fells.
This hidden "mini"-Zoo has most of the little ones excluding naturally the BIG ones that need more care and HUGE accommodation.
So no elefants, giraffes or like, but loads of reptiles, turtles, mouses, rodents and ones which have their own fur and can stay out (winter times), camels, reindeers, lambs and so on.
Over all there is over 100 spices and almost 300 different animals. In addition it has very active horsestall that offers multiple activities with horses.
There's also dog, reindeer and horseback sleds offered would you want to try something else instead of snowmobile.
Kind of hidden location to make sure that the animals have their own peace, but still easy to find and won't take time to get there.
Kind and good service with that homemade cosy feeling - if you like animals and the weather is "bad" for outdoors this might nice place to visit.

We visited here because we was going horse riding next door. Small selection of animals but in the snowy conditions quite picturesque. Nice cafe and renowned berry juice.

Team Green returned today as the dog guy was back in work!!!! 👊🏻
1km track - 8 dogs, beautifully quiet wilderness - €15 each!!! Not the longest run, but a very special personal experience - enough to make amazing memories 👍🏻

We booked a family sledge ride, pulled by a horse, through the local forest over Xmas. To say our host wasn't exactly chatty would be an understatement. We had barely two sentences from her, and the ride itself, whilst lovely only lasted abut twenty minutes - basically a quick trot round the block. We were then shown to an emty room and givena few Rich tea biscuits and some hot juice, whilst our 'host' disappeared somewhere. All in all, we left feeling it was definitely nbot worth the pretty steep price we paid for the trip - and that the hosts could really work a bit more on actually engaging with their customers!

First of all, it is not a petting zoo. It is simply a place where some farm animals are kept and you may see them through cages. The most you can pet is their dog - a nice one though. Better go to a zoo.

Had a lovely afternoon Dec 15 2017. The family who run it are very welcoming. No husky rides as the bloke who brings them was off sick. We had good pony ride walked around animal enclosure and had drinks and bicys and donuts in the cafe. Friendly dogs running around and the slide was covered in uce that made us slide faster!! Ace fun cheap family afternoon out. Recommended for families with young kids. Sledges and a huge hill too!! 🤪👊

This was about 2 km walk from Yllas centre.
Llamas and then mostly farm animals and horses. Reindeer... You can have a walk around.
Cost per adult is 12 euro and child 9 euro...!
Cafe attached, and small pay area for children in front of the cafe.
Expensive (like Finland) for what it is! The horse/pony rides however looked good, not sure what additional costs they are.

My 2 daughters (5 and 7) enjoyed a ride along Gnomes Way. The staff were great helping the girls get to know their ponies and brush them before a short local ride through a snowy forest. 30 minutes was plenty in the cold.

My 3 year old daughter had a lovely lead rein ride through Gnomes Way in the woods. It was magical, like riding through Narnia in the snow, she loved every minute of it and we had a good 30 minutes. Lots of animals there and things to do and good value for money too.
