We booked three safari's with Due North (snowshoe hike, Reindeer farm and husky safari, with snowscooters). We liked all three very much. Pick-up and drop-off at our cabin was easy and our guides were very helpful and friendly. Rent of warm clothing was included and although it was -15, we never felt cold. We appreciated the smaller group sizes. Thank you for such a nice experience!

Me and a friend did 5 safari's with Due North Safari's Monday: Husky by Snowmobile - A truly beautiful tip! With the moon shining as bright as a moon can shine, slowly watching the magical sunrise. Didn't expect we could drive the huskies ourselves, which was truly a kick ass experience. 10/10 Monday: Northern Light Wander Even though we didn't see the Northern Lights and the rest of the group had trouble communicating with anyone that didn't speak German/Swiss dialect, our Guide Tanja truly did her best to ask all our questions and really to her time for us! The beautiful sky full of stars was great to see. 8/10 Wednesday: Ice fishing by Snowmobile Our guide Ulka (Hope I've written that correctly!) also really took his time. Ice fishing trip was one of the most beautiful trips. Although I would recommend a multiple day trip by snowmobile, as I feel that would be even better. 10/10 (multiple day would be 20/10 I suppose :)) Thursday: Snow Shoe hike Our guide Ramona was just too kind. She even used a trick that the wild Siberian Jay would come and eat the hands of some in our group! She also told a lot about the scenery. Friday: Reindeer by bus Our guide/driver Oscar was open to talk about his life in Sweden (in which we were mostly interested). The reindeer farm was nice to see, however I must be honest and say the ride itself was extremely boring, especially if you've already experienced the Husky sled ride... Would recommend to visit the farm, although I'd skip the ride. All in all a great Safari-agency and would recommend them to everyone. They really take the time to answer all the questions to have, and to take pictures. Tip for the clients; Please help the guides (and yourself) to have a good time. A group that just listens and follows is no good to anyone...

We had one of the best days of our lives on this amazing tour. Due to having to change our travel plans, we visited the office to see if we could change the day of our tour. Brian was only too happy to change things around for us and arrange other staff to take us the next day. The tour itself was fantastic. Firstly we were provided with equipment (jackets, pants, gloves, balaclavas) which kept us dry and warm all day. We were guided by Eric who looked after us so very well. We followed large and very small paths to the reindeer farm. Some of the paths were narrow but great fun and some went through a little area where Eric pointed out fresh otter tracks in the snow alongside a creek. We didn't see the otter, but the attention Eric showed in looking out for things to show us, was indicative of the care he took of us all day and the effort he went to to make sure we had a good time. The reindeers were fun, and the silence of a ride through the forest in a reindeer sleigh was wonderful. Afterwards, the reindeer handlers shared warm drinks and traditional biscuits as they told us about the cycle of the year for reindeers. It was very informative and a real insight into the importance of reindeer in the history of this area. Following this we were back on the snowmobiles for an extended ride to the snow village. The snow village is a hotel made out of snow and ice and is a must see for the art that is carved in snow and ice throughout. In addition to being deeply impressed with the art, we had a delicious lunch (also included as part of the tour). After about an hour at the snow village we got back on the snow mobiles and had a super time taking a scenic route back to Akaslompolo. I can't speak highly enough about Eric for his guidance, knowledge and care. We are a family of 4 and our youngest daughter was in the sleigh attached to Eric's snowmobile. He made sure that she also had a great time all day. Overall, if you are going to Akaslompolo or surrounds and are looking for a snowmobile adventure like we had, or any of the others Due North Safaris have on offer, I would highly recommend them. They are professional, know what they are doing, are focussed on looking after their customers and in all of our dealings with them, showed themselves to be really nice people.

We highly recommend Due North Safaris. Our experience was incredible - from Brian helping us out to arrange a snowmobiling safari to our guide, Erik who was wonderful. We had the most amazing time on our safaris. We would recommend Due North Safaris to anyone who is looking to have a fantastic Lapland experience.

Very nice and helpful staff! We did a two days trip with snowmobiles around the 7 fells with Ville as a guide and had an awesome time (wilderness, hunter cabin, sauna, aurora!). He explained everything and gave us some space to enjoy and have fun. Good and warm gear, especially the jackets! We would totally do it again! Kathi and Marco
