On a very rainy day, this provided a great day out. There was plenty of interesting areas to visit without it being too "museumy". Although you need a lot of stamina to reach the higher areas, the views are amazing. There is a cafe with...More

If you're at Montreux you have to see the castle. Nice history and they offer information in a recorder at the entrance. We were lucky that we encountered a group with a guide there and we walked with them and the guide gave great history...More

We had a quick visit here, but really enjoyable. The history is very interesting and the displays were informative and helped to get insight on everyday life in the castle at its heyday during medieval times.

We were based in Lausanne for 4 days and Chateau de Chillon was on my list of places to see. It did not disappoint! It was a glorious sunny day in March, and we took the train to the station right next to the castle....More

Its not hard to see why this is the most visited tourist attraction in Switzerland. Very pretty but with a gruesome history. Well worth a visit but we went late afternoon to avoid the crowds to make for a more enjoyable experience. Easily reached by...More

I found visiting this chateau very interesting both because it is so old and historical and because of its place in literature. We had a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. I believe that we spent about an hour here and saw everything.

Very scenic location just south of Montreux on the board of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) this medieval castle guarded the acces to the lake and the Southern Mountain passes trough the Alps. Very popular with groups and individual tourists alike. It will certainly provoke the...More

On the way by train to Geneva, we stopped by Montreux. Walked along the sea side to see the exterior of this chateau to take great pictures. Unfortunate that we don't have enough time to explore the inside.

We walked from town to the castle along the waterfront. Our Swiss Travel Pass gave us free admission and we paid 6 francs for the audio set. Lots of history and great artifacts. There are a lot of steps to navigate in order to see...More

Of course the castle is fabulous but upon purchasing my ticket at 5pm (when the castle closes at 7pm and last entry is at 6pm), I discovered that no audio guides were available. The surly person cleaning them did not make eye contact nor did...More

Ferry dock is very close to station. The walk to the chateau is beautiful - a paved walk along the lake. That's how we chose to go, I highly recommend it! The ferries don't run that frequently. If you need transportation... More

I am late in replying, but I do not think there is any storage facility at the castle and I have my doubts if they have boat service from the castle to Geneva. You can get boat service from main town though
