We had a good look around here when on holiday. It's an interesting spot but not all that much to see. Spotted a few inscriptions on isolated stonework but not clear if they had been brought to the site or were original items. Never the less worth a look if you're in the area.

Staying at Ikos Aria hotel right on the beach, access was easy for us. Fascinating basilica. No information boards, but Google did us proud on the history. Went at sunrise - spellbinding views and some memorable photos.

Ruins of this basilica of Agios Stefanos constructed around 500 century, right located near the sea and the beach; the entrance to the site is free, you feel you free in an superb ambiance of archeological site and near the beach; the basilica is very good preserved; nice columns and mosaics.

The Basilica of Agios Stefanos is what the gives the adjacent beach its name. There is no admission fee charged and you can walk amongst the ruins. It is a cool sight to see the mosaics which are still are good condition.
The basilica appears to date from Roman times but appears to have been in use at least during the early Byzantine era as evidenced by the Christian symbols. It takes about an hour to go around and get a full appreciation of the site.
Coupled with the beach, there is great opportunity for photography. As with the beach there is plenty of parking. Well worth the visit.

The Basilica of Agios Stefanos offers a breathtaking view of the beach below. However, my visit was marred by the lack of respect shown towards this historical site. There were no signs explaining its significance, and visitors were using the ruins for activities like sunbathing, placing their swim gear, and even eating on ancient marble structures. It was disappointing and concerning that such behaviors were not addressed with basic signage or oversight from local authorities on the island.

This place is well located near the beach just have to walk past the big hotel security. Fascinating ancient ruins but are missing story boards to give you an insight on why they are there etc

It was quite a walk along the beach from my hotel in Kefalos but well worth it. A little bit of Greek history, i think about a thousand years old at the end of the beach. Columns, mosaics and other remnants of ancient carved stone are waiting for you but take a bottle of water and decent shoes with you.

On the beach right next to the sea is this ruin. You can tell it would have been beautiful when first built. There are columns and bits of mosaic strewn around but no info to tell you who or when it was built.
Well worth seeing but takes no more than 15-20 mins.
