Sunset in Zia

3 reviews
Charming Zia in the southernmost slope, whose superb location makes it the perfect spot for viewing spectacular sunsets and gazing at the nearby islands of Kalymnos and Pserimos as well as the Turkish coast in the distance.

During the summer the settlement of Zia is bursting with activity from the countless visitors who come to taste local delicacies served in charming traditional taverns, to purchase unique local products and souvenirs and to stroll through the cobblestone alleyways all the way up to its crystal-clear fresh water springs, the most well-known of which is Kefalovrisi.

This beach is well off the beaten track but that means it’s often not so busy which is great. Nice little taverna near the beach to catch some real good food! Can be very windy!

Nice scenic drive down towards the sunset beach. Restaurant there located perfectly, but did not hear good reviews from the locals, do skipped that. The sunset was great. Beach is stony/sandy. You can park pretty close to the beach.

Fantastic beach though stony. The sunset was fantastic and the restaurant was very nice also. €5 for two sun beds and parasol for the day, but there aren’t many so be early if going high season. We were there yesterday and very quiet. In fact there were more people in the restaurant when we had our evening meal watching the sunset than on the beach. The water is crystal clear and felt warmer than say camel beach. Don’t know if that was my imagination or because of the stony bottom reflecting heat and when you get to sandy bit it stays quite shallow for quite a distance out. There was a sandy beach part further to the left as you face the sea but more people there. We where below the restaurant and other than us there was only two other couples, bliss. You can take your car down close to beach so no cliff to climb. Don’t think you could beat this beach for sunset location

What a beautiful nature and what lovely water to swim in. If you are on Kos and rent a car: go there!
