Well, we went there late and just wanted to take a dip in the ocean.
So we decided not to take the main beach and to pay for beach beds and an umbrella.
We walked to another bay. It is a very stoney coast with rough sea. But we could make it to the water and it was nice.
The downside hence three stars only is the rubbish everywhere. We saw cupboards, fridges and heaps of filled plastic bags. Disgusting and noone sadly seemed to care.
Hint: take beach shoes coz of the Stones there

This is the place you want to be for the sunset; ignore Zia it's purely for tourists because buses can go there while this is the real deal. There's also a nice taverna close by that serve excellent food (try their garlic bread with cheese, it's to die for!) of all kinds.
If you continue past the church (require quad or similar) you got lots of small coves with private beaches to lie down in.

Its a typically nice looking beach with nothing around but the restaurant so be sure to take your own provisions. However if you go either side of the main beach area there is a tremendous amount of washed up rubbish along the shore both sides. Still worth a visit but needs a clean up.

Not the right beach for small kids. Waves and sea plants make it not the right choise. Very nice for a picture but there are many better beaches for bathing. Moreover, the guy taking care of the umbrellas told us we had to pay 5 euros to rent one. When we said we didn't need it, he told us that we could not stay at the beach then since it is private (which for sure is not). In any case we were not planning to stop there so we didn't have to discuss with him (otherwise i would have called the police).

We always try and get out to Agios Theologos once a year.
We lovely the atmosphere, watching the sun set here is just the best place to be ever!
They also serve "red cheese" which is worth the trip out there just for that.

This beach is well off the beaten track but that means it’s often not so busy which is great. Nice little taverna near the beach to catch some real good food! Can be very windy!

A great beach if you fancy something a bit more wavy. The beach is set down from the restaurant and a bit of a steep walk down and back up so not for everyone but great to visit just the restaurant. The beach is sandy with sunbeds to hire for €5. We had meal in the restaurant in the evening. Food was good, service good and location for watching the sunset perfect. We were lucky enough to see the full moon as well on the same night. The restaurant is also popular with the locals so although it is very much out the way it was very busy when we visited. Definately worth a visit for either or.

what else would you like for your relaxing beach holiday?
rocky strands, windy, so be prepared to have difficulties coming out of the sea, but still worth it :)

We 'stumbled' upon this restaurant in 2013 and when we re-visted Kos this year we purposely travelled for it.
If you want a traditional Greek Taverna this is it! absolutely fantastic food with a beautiful view and lovely friendly staff
A must have in my opinion is the Humous, absolutely delicious!

If you want to see a spectacular sunset and eat fabulous food then this restaurant is a must. To get a good table try to arrive between 7 and 7.30pm. The restaurant is a twenty minute drive from Kefalos but is another world away. The setting reminded me of Shirley Valentine !! Leo and the rest of the staff make your evening here an experience with their chat, and professionalism. If you are in this part of the world you must visit this restaurant and see the sunset and sample the great food.
