I stumbled upon the carpark for Black Rock Pier [jetty] and Half Moon Bay by accident. There are 2 carparks an upper and a lower where the pier is and view of the HMAS Cerberus wreckage. Parking like all in the Bayside area is app or ticket machine based.

The pier / jetty and surrounding foreshore / concrete barrier is quite spectacular. If you stand and face the pier the wreckage is to the left and Half Moon Bay is to the right [because of its present shape] and behind you is Black Rock.

While visiting this area I saw many a tourist sitting by the water eating fish and chips. Pier fishing isn't allowed from here anymore and neither is jumping or diving off the jetty and other structure. You can see a few restaurants, public toilets and beach huts nestled along the waterfront and cliffs. It provides a boat ramp and jetty walkway for visitors. A popular spot for fishing and boating, and used regularly by the Surf Life Saving Club. If you have a dog it must stay on the lead and be cleaned up after.

Not too far from the shore lies the HMVS Cerberus: a 1870s battleship that was scuttled in the bay in 1926 to create a breakwater for the Black Rock Yacht Club.
This is a great place to end up at after a day at the beach.

The pier itself is small but the area is pretty and quite interesting with HMAS Cerberus a few meters away. There is also free parking, rare along the Bayside Council coastline.A nice part of Melbourne and a good jetty.

The Pier in Half Moon Bay gives a great view of the beach and the HMVS Cerberus that was sunk here as a breakwater. It is a pleasant walk from the car park and offers views of the setting sun.

It was a windy day but loved watching the waves. A small pier but you get a closer look at Cerberus. Beautiful place for photos.

The Pier really isn’t a massive Pier as I would know them but fun little location for a short visit on a sunny day. Good location to launch your sail boat with good car parking facilities. Allow just a few minutes to walk along the Pier!

In close proximity are the beach, Red Bluff cliffs and the Cerberus. It is a lovely area to wonder around and enjoy. The pier goes out toward the Cerberus which is nice to look at and using a long lens on the camera will give you a better view. Make sure if you park nearby you pay for parking as the inspector can appear out of nowhere. Otherwise, park in a side street nearby and walk down. It is tough on the legs going back up but the price of parking is abominable.

We live our beach but it's hurting.....the pier has gone and is waiting to be rebuilt after a huge storm.
The old Cerberus keeps this beach alive but is rusting away fast. Something needs to be done to keep this iconic beach.
Parking is expensive and there is very little parking available.
If you are from the other side of town then I would suggest you go elsewhere where you can park you car and trailer.
The fish and chip shop is great except on hot nights when you can literally wait for hours for your food.
The rocks are gorgeous to view but are falling away.
Leave this one for the locals as it doesn't cater for more due to the poor parking and lack of facilities....

This is a lovely little pier. But you really need a car to get to it. It can get quite windy, so make sure you come prepared.

Been on the list for a while - tried a few times but parking is a challenge! (Tips below).

This is a popular spot with locals as it's close to cafes and shops and a great place for the family to sit back and relax on the beach.
The pier itself only has 50% of the structure open as it's been damaged by storms, so is fenced off.
Nonetheless you can explore the rest and then go for a walk along the beach/swim.

It's a nice spot to spend an hour or two, just watch out for people launching their boats earlier in the day... if you go before 10am on a warm summers day expect it to be very busy and full of activity!

SUMMARY

Great spot to spend an hour or two with the family. Brunch at one of the cafes in Blackrock itself then have a wander down to the pier and beach.

Any Tips or Tricks to be mentioned:
- Parking is $5.80 per hour, I would recommend trying to find a side street that has free parking then walking a couple of minutes (Re-Invest the money into fish and chips!). There is also limited parking as about 1/3 of the spots are reserved for cars with trailers for boats.
- Get some fish and chips and sit on the pier or beach and take in the site.
- Go after 1pm, I find it's quieter at that time.
