Very impressive by its size, this fortress tower is part of the first section of the great wall to be built, though there have been more recent modifications.Within the courtyard there are 2 specimens of elm tree which were common in this area a long time ago.The top of the tower offers a good 360 degree view of Yulin city and the bushland/desert.Well worth a visit overall!

This watch tower is really great for photo taking. Not much tourists as other parts of the Great Wall. Green grass, blue sky and the wall, so perfect. Moreover, the ticket is only 30 RMB.

From here, you can still sight nearby remants of original packed earth ancient parts of the wall, loess earth houses still lived in. Part of this tower seem restored and safe. When we visited, not much visitors and peacefully quiet. With some imagination, open mind one can have a feel of what's it could be like in it's original days. Location is about 30min out of city center. We took a taxi there. definately worth a visit

Although this is not like the Great Wall you typically imagine and see on TV, it is still a must when in Yulin!
