Mollie is a gorgeous dog. We were fortunate enough for Mollie to say hi when we had our Mystery picnic at Murrumbateman Winery on Friday.

On a side note we really enjoyed our tasting (even tho i am not a big fan of wines). Big thank you to the young gentleman (sorry i forgot his name!) who was a wonderful host, very patient and informative when we were asking lots of questions about processes etc. Really made the end of the day wonderful - so Thank you.

Love this winery! We go here on a regular basis after taking the dogs for a run. The owners are super friendly and happy for dogs to come to the winery of an afternoon. The wine is well priced and very tasty. My personal favourites are the straight Shiraz and they do a delicious white port that tastes like christmas pudding.

The wines were very average, and the customer service was poor. We paid for tastings which I am happy to do but then received the smallest amount I have ever been poured at a winery, which made it very hard to actually taste the wines. The lady serving us was quite aggressive.
It is also run down and the dog friendly aspect obviously appeals to dog owners but for others it just made it feel more dirty.
Won't return.

This is a place I have driven past so many occasions, each time I telling myself "I need to visit that Winery" and last weekend I finally did.
Bobbie greeted us upon arrival, he owns the Winery and was very lovely and passionate about his job.
We tried/tested several wines and were explained in detail about what each of the wines had to offer and about how they came to be - this was very helpful in choosing a final wine to sit down with in the sun, I enjoyed the Riesling. We complemented our wines with a cheese platter which was beautiful and Mollie and Tannin the vineyards dogs made us very welcomed by playing fetch with us.
We finished our time off with a taste of each of the wineries Port. They make the only while Port in the Canberra region - it smells like Christmas cake and tastes like heaven - They were just beautiful and we left with 3 bottles!
I will definitely be visiting here again, its a lovely little winery an the owners are very genuine lovely people.

Went there on Easter Sunday. The lady there was so knowledgable of the wines and the food they pair well with. I loved how quaint it was, and the sleeping doggies were so cute.

Fantastic location paired with amazing wines. Bobby, Jen and the staff are very welcoming and fantastic local ambassadors. Their wines are a true representation of their passion of wine making. This is definitely a place to stop when visiting Murrumbateman.

When we planned to go out to Murrumbateman Winery I was excited. I loved the idea of naming wines after their dogs, and it looked like a nice place to spend the afternoon, but when we arrived I was totally shocked at the rudeness of the staff, their total lack of customer service and the lack of hygiene around food and drink service. I left early after being disappointed with the wine, food and service. I have never been more disappointed with a place in my life. There are so many wineries in the reason - big and small who provide wonderful wines and food that there is no need to visit this one.

Staff rude and gave literally 5ml tastings. Plenty of good wineries in the region, my advice is to give this one a miss!

This was the 3rd and final stop on a day tour of Murrumbateman wineries. We hadn't planned on stopping here but due to wet weather, our tour bus couldn't get to Long Rail Gully.

The cellar door is an old rundown house and on this particular day it smelt of wet dog (it's a dog friendly / dog themed cellar door, apparently). There was a hen's party there too but they were quiet and respectful. Admittedly our group was a bit rowdy at this stage of the day but the vibe was fun/positive, we wanted to be there and we were in a spending mood.

I didn't want to taste whites, so I asked to start with red. I was told I would need to wait until everyone else in our group had finished tasting whites. The other wineries had managed to cope with pouring whatever people wanted without sticking to the script.

The pours were incredibly "tight", with barely enough of each wine to wash around the mouth (not exaggerating).

After tasting two whites, which were actually quite nice, we decided to exit our (paid) tasting session early - no wines purchased - and move on to a more customer focused venue.

There are a lot of rules at this place.

Hopefully we just caught them on a bad day but with so many other great options in the region, I certainly won't be rushing back.

Hi Dale. We are very sorry that your group did not enjoy their tasting. We are committed to excellent customer service and responsible service of alcohol. Thank you for admitting your group was a bit rowdy. It was disappointing that your group had been drinking on the bus, bought alcoholic beverages to our small business and tried to lower your glasses as we were pouring tastings to attempt to receive a greater volume. We are a small business and our cellar door tasting experience is intended to provide people with information about our business, wine making processes and sample to taste, ahead of hopefully purchasing our product. In regard to the wet dog smell, I acknowledge this was the case - our dogs were hosting a Christmas dog party and due to the weather (very rainy) this was unavoidable. At the time your booking was made, earlier that day, we advised your group organiser that this event was taking place. We hope your group enjoyed the rest of their celebrations and welcome you to return for a red wine tasting. Cheers, Bob
