Robyn Rowe is passionate about her craft and loves what she does. And this is reflected in the absolutely delicious, finely crafted couverture chocolates that she produces on site in her idyllic rural workshop and cafe.

Well I can’t rate the chocolates because I refuse to buy any. Why? The place is kilometres off the main road. They sell drinks but the toilet was unavailable for use. The excuse ‘we can’t keep it clean because of COVID’. This was the first place we came to that used that excuse to save themselves the bother of cleaning. I put it under the heading of bad service. For your comfort o wouldn’t recommend coming all the way out here.

Look out for the sign on the Barton Hwy which says Robyn Rowe Chocolates. It is a small cafe, on a path not taken by too many. Consider this a detour to gourmet chocolate heaven. Besides being located in such a cosy setting near a little lake, the chocolaterie accepts cards so I was able to shop to my heart's content. There are little gift boxes (different sizes) which Robyn offered to pack for a small add on cost or just pick the chocolates of which there are at many varieties and there is standard packing also available. Chocolates are made fresh every week and I can personally vouch for the quality. I found it hard to choose from the whole selection but there is something for everyone, milk chocolate and dark chocolate options available for each type of beautifully crafted piece. There are chocolate koala, kangaroo, frogs, cars, hears and spoon shaped chocolate for the kiddies. I saw a menu for brownies and warm beverages and I wish I had more time to sample the cafe's offerings but that will have to wait for my next visit. If you are driving down to Canberra or heading back home, highly recommend a visit to Robyn Rowe's Chocolate Shop.

What a treat to see Robyn and her beautiful staff freshly hand making these top quality chocolates. The flavours are subtle and delicious, and could compete with any of the top chocolatiers in Europe. The comment that the chocolates are expensive is not thought through. These scrumptious treats are hand made on site with all fair trade chocolate. Hard working families in Ghana are getting a fair price for their produce which means their children can get an education and the families can live at a reasonable quality of life. Supporting this lovely caring lady and her fabulous staff also supports communities in Ghana and employs local Canberra folks. If you want cheap chocolate from businesses taking advantage if desperate communities Freddo frogs are widely available. If you want an occasional high quality treat made with love and care go and see Robyn. The setting is lovely and Robyn supplies outdoor games so that you can take your time and enjoy a relaxing chocolate fix! Please bring your good condition used books for Robyn to sell to support local cancer charities. Bring some buy some and help raise money for a very good cause. We’ll be back! Thank you Robyn. ❤️
